Tamilla Ahmad gizi Ahmadova was born into an intellectual family in the village of Garagaya in the Krasnoselo district of today"s Republic of Armenia in West Azerbaijan. Having graduated from high school with excellent grades, Tamilla Ahmadova, who was admitted to the Faculty of Energy of the Sumgait branch of the Azerbaijan Oil and Chemical Institute (AOCI), graduated from the department with the specialty ‘Electricity supply of industrial enterprises, cities, regions and agriculture’. Tamilla Ahmadova, who started working as a draughtswoman at the Petrochemical Automation Scientific Research Project Institute during her studies at the higher school, has held the positions of laboratory assistant, assistant, senior teacher, associate professor, head of department, dean at Sumgait State University (SSU) since 1980, and is currently an advisor to the rector. In 1991, after defending a candidate"s thesis on ‘Development and research of an electromagnetic distance sensor for flexible automatic production and robotics’ and receiving the scientific degree of candidate of technical sciences, in 1992 she became the senior teacher of the Department of Electrical Engineering, in 1993 she became an associate professor in the same department, in 2000, she was elected to the position of an associate professor at the Department of Electrical Supply and received the diploma of an associate professor at that department in 2002. In 2001-2003, she worked as the dean of the part-time department at SSU, and from 2004 to 2014, she was again appointed as the head of the Department of Electrical Engineering. From 2014 to 2024, she was the dean of the Faculty of Physics and Electroenergetics, and at the same time, from 2015, she held the position of part-time associate professor at the Department of Electrical Engineering (now Electrical Engineering and Energy). In 2017, she received the honorary title of Honored Teacher by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan. In 2023, Tamilla Ahmadova, who received the scientific degree of Doctor of Science in Information-measurement and control systems (in robotics), currently works as an advisor to the rector, a professor. She is the author of more than 80 scientific and educational methodical works, including 2 inventions, 3 teaching means, 6 methodical instructions and subject programs. She is a member of the New Azerbaijan Party. She is married and has 2 children.
