Natural Sciences
The Faculty of Natural Sciences was established in 1973 on the basis of the Faculty of Chemistry, Technology and Energy. From 2001 to 2010, it operated as the Faculty of Chemistry, from 2010 it was named the Faculty of Chemistry and Biology, and from 2024 it was named the Faculty of Natural Sciences. The first dean of the faculty (1973-1976) was Associate Professor Sh.M. Novruzov. Later, the faculty was headed by Associate Professor Z.F. Mammadov (1976-1979; Assoc. G.K. Bayramov (1979-1980), Assoc. H.G. Eminov (1983-2003), prof. G. A. Ramazanov (2003-2010), Assoc. A.H. Gadimov (2010-2014) and associate professor M.M. Muradov (2014-2023). From 2023, the dean of the faculty is associate professor Salimov Rashad Allahverdi oglu.Currently, 97 employees work in the faculty, including 71 professors and 26 technical assistants. 1 of them is a corresponding member of ANAS, 2 are doctors of sciences, professors; 35 are Ph.D., associate professors; 19 people work as senior teachers, 14 people as assistants, and 26 people as teaching assistants.Teaching at the faculty is carried out only in visual form. The language of instruction is mainly Azerbaijani. From the 2024-2025 academic year, teaching in the Chemistry teaching specialty has been started in English. Currently, a total of 886 students are studying at the faculty on 8 bachelor's and 16 master's specialties. 793 of them are studying at bachelor's degree and 93 at master's degree. Student Scientific Society, Student Council, Student Youth Organization, Student Free Trade Union Organization are also available here.
