Faculty of Engineering
The Faculty of Engineering was founded in 1973 with the establishment of the Faculty of Energy-Automation of Production Processes-Mechanics. Later, the faculty was named Energetics, automatics and mechanics, Automatics-mechanics, Automatics. After Sumgayit State University was established in 2000 on the basis of Azerbaijan Industrial Institute, the faculty was named Computer equipment and technologies, and since 2004, Computer equipment and information technologies. In 2006, the Faculty of Engineering was established on the basis of automation and management, information technologies, industry, mechanics, electronics, logistics and transport technologies, mechatronics and robotics, and energy-oriented engineering specialties.
The faculty is headed by associate professor Agayev Ulduz Kheyrulla oglu.

The faculty consists of 113 professors and teaching assistants, including 4 professors, 26 associate professors, 34 senior teachers (9 of them PhDs), 15 assistants, 5 tutors, 3 laboratory managers, 24 laboratory assistants, 2 preporators.
At the moment, 5 people are working on doctoral dissertations in the Faculty of Doctor of Philosophy program.

Teaching is carried out in full-time and part-time form. 1,699 students at the faculty: 1,574 of them are studying at the undergraduate level (1,117 students at the full-time department and 457 students at the part-time department) and 125 at the master's level.

Employees of the faculty participated in training at the Technical University of Berlin in Germany, the University of Twente in the Netherlands, Gazi University in Turkey, Varna Technical University in Bulgaria, Spain within the framework of TEMPUS, ERASMUS+, PETRA international projects.
