Sumgayit State University has two dormitories (student houses). Internally displaced people have been living in the university’s student houses since 1992. As part of the state's efforts to improve the social living conditions of refugees and internally displaced persons, a new settlement for internally displaced persons was built in Sumgayit city and families living in the university's student house No. 1 were relocated to new homes. The university's student house No. 1 was completely renovated because it was unusable. SSU’s student house No. 1 is situated in in the 44th neighborhood, Agha Guliyev Street. The student house consists of five floors. There are two shower rooms, two kitchens and two laundry rooms on each floor. There are library, dining, medical, isolation, and laundry rooms in the first floor of the student house. In addition, sports hall, mini football field, volleyball court exist in the student house. For the comfort of the students, rooms that meet high standards, quality internet access, central heating system, and all the facilities have been created for students to spend their free time fruitfully. Totally, there are 248 rooms available here – 124 for boys, 124 for girls. In addition, there are 7 guest rooms with 17 beds.
