THE WINNERS OF VIII REPUBLICAN CONTEST “SCIENTISTS OF TOMORROW” AWARDED
On February 14, the award ceremony was held of VIII Republican contest “Scientists of tomorrow”. The representatives of proper institutions and education employees took part in the ceremony for supporting the schoolchildren. And also rector of SSU Professor Elkhan Huseynov supported the IX-XI grade pupils of Sumgayit secondary schools.
Deputy Minister of Education Mahabbat Valiyeva delivered speech in the event and notified that the interest is raising to Republican contest “Scientists of tomorrow”, which has special role in further improvement of pupils. Stressing organization of the contest for the 8th time, the deputy Minister noted that 1500 schoolchildren presented about 900 projects on mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology, ecology, engineering, and computer sciences. 42 graduates of those, who graduated from secondary school with golden and silver medals, were the winners or participants of “Scientists of tomorrow” contest held in recent 2 years. Some of them continue their education in higher education institutions and abroad with great achievements.
54 projects prepared by 84 pupils were chosen winners by Jury this year. 44 of them are boys, 40 are girls. 8 projects were winners on I place, 17 on II place, 25 on III place. On Sumgayit city, 15 schoolchildren, 9 projects were awarded; 1 project awarded with special prize.
Professor of SSU Javanshir Mammadov, who was leading Sumgayit pupils, noted that certificates presented to participants of 33 projects that qualified to final stage. The projects on computer sciences of pupils of Gymnasium of Natural Sciences of Sumgayit city: Ayan Abdulova, Maghrur Rzayev – “PictoFy” and Aytaj Aliyeva – “Fight scene prepared in 3D style for confusing the enemy” were awarded II place and silver medal. 1 golden, 2 silver medals gained on ecology. 11th grade pupil of secondary school № 11 Murad Ramazanli gained silver medal on medicine and health; 1 golden, 1 silver medals gained on chemistry; 1 bronze medal on physics. Generally, 2 golden, 6 silver and 1 bronze medals gained on 5 nominations.
It should be noted that the contest is held by the organization of Ministry of Education, Ministry of Youth and Sport, Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, Heydar Aliyev Center, Science Development Foundation under President of Azerbaijan Republic and Republican Committee of Azerbaijani Education Workers Free Trade Union.
