INCREASE OF SCHOLARSHIPS TO STIMULATE THE STUDENTS
DECREE OF THE PRESIDENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF AZERBAIJAN
Guided by item 32 of Article 109 of Constitution of Azerbaijan Republic, in order to raise state care about the doctoral candidates, students and pupils of higher, secondary special and initial vocational education institutions, as well as master students of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, who study due to the Public budget, and to further strengthen their social protection, I hereby order as follows:
1. The size of scholarships to doctoral candidates, students and pupils of higher, secondary special and initial vocational education institutions, as well as master students of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences who study due to the Public budget, shall be increased as following:
1.1. Doctoral degree:
doctoral candidates on doctor of sciences – 300 manat
doctoral candidates on doctor of philosophy – 180 manat
1.2. Higher education institutions and Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences:
students receiving personal scholarship - 170 manat
Master’s degree:
students with 91-100 points - 145 manat
students with 71-100 points – 120 manat
students with 51-100 points – 80 manat
Bachelor’s degree:
students with 91-100 points – 130 manat
students with 71-100 points – 110 manat
students with 51-100 points – 75 manat
1.3. Secondary special educational institutions:
students with 91-100 points – 75 manat
students with 71-100 points - 60 manat
students with 51-100 points – 50 manat
1.4. Initial vocational education institutions–50 manat
2. Scholarships shall be provided to students of higher education and secondary special education institutions, as well as full-time master students of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, irrespective of their education in state or private universities, considering average success indicator, for their academic performance on subjects in amounts determined with item 1.2 and 1.3 of this Decree.
3. Scholarships determined with item 1.1 and 1.4 of this Decree shall be provided only doctoral students, studying due to the Public budget and the students of vocational education institutions.
4. To determine that, providing scholarships is implemented within the resource allocated for scholarships from the state budget, by keeping the number of students studying in Doctorate degree, secondary special and initial vocational education institutions, as well as Master’s degree of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences due to the Public budget.
5. The 1, 1.1 and 2 section of the Decree No. 3108 dated August 30, 2013 of the President of Azerbaijan Republic “On providing scholarship for doctoral candidates, students and pupils of higher, secondary special and initial vocational education institutions, as well as master students of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences” to declare void.
6. Cabinet of Ministers of the Azerbaijan Republic to resolve the issues arising from this Decree.
7. The Decree comes into force from March 1, 2019.
