On April 3, an event was held in the Faculty of Physics and electroenergetics dedicated to the anniversary of April fights.

First, martyrs to the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan were commemorated with a minute of silence.

Faculty dean docent Tamella Ahmadova launched the event with welcome speech and spoke about importance of victory gained in April, 2016. “These battles show that Azerbaijan will never reconcile to invasion and will restore its territorial integrity no matter what. Azerbaijani Armed Forces is ready and capable to new victory march. The victory in April fights once more proved that our brave soldiers are completely ready to liberation of all occupied lands by the order of Supreme Commander-in-chief”.

Docent Tamella Ahmadova emphasized that the memory of martyrs is honored at Sumgayit State University, as all parts of the country. She said: “The valor of every martyr is a sample in upbringing young generation in the spirit of patriotism. Sumgayit State University is always proud of its martyrs. The University frequently commemorates the memory of martyrs and visits their families and cares their problems. 2015 year alumni of Physics and electroenergetics faculty Mikayil Vahabov (born in 1993) heroically became a martyr in recent fights for the sake of territorial integrity of our lands. University administration, collective and students visited his grave”. Speaking about Mikayil Vahabzade, Tamella Ahmadova pointed out that he was a meritorious student. God bless all our martyrs and heroes that sacrificed their lives for the sake of territorial integrity of our country.

Docent Mehdi Gurbanov and I course student of Physics and electroenergetics faculty, who was a live witness of April happenings Umid Aliyev delivered speech and notified that April victory is a triumph of bellicosity of Azerbaijani people and strength of its army. They said: “We believe that, our three-colored flag will wave in all parts of Garabagh under the leadership of President of Azerbaijan Republic, Supreme Commander-in-chief Ilham Aliyev”.
