SSU HOLDS SUBJECT OLYMPIAD ON PHYSICS, DEDICATED TO 70TH ANNIVERSARY OF SUMGAYIT CITY
On May 4, subject Olympiad on physics was held at Sumgayit State University among IX-XI grade schoolchildren of Sumgayit under the motto “Today’s pupil is tomorrow’s scientist”, dedicated to 70th anniversary of Sumgayit city.
The object of holding the Olympiad is to reveal talented children and create circumstances for them in order to display their knowledge and skills in healthy competition environment, according to the order issued by President Ilham Aliyev dated January 26, 2015 on “Development strategy of Azerbaijani youth in 2015-2025”. Sumgayit State University regularly arranges Olympiads on various subjects for schoolchildren.
It is worth to note that about 187 schoolchildren from 33 schools on Sumgayit city took part in the Olympiad. 5 open type questions were given to the participants on each grade. The questions were prepared by the lecturers of the university.
Diplomas and presents will be given to the winners and encouraging diplomas to some participants.
