SUBJECT OLYMPIAD ON CHEMISTRY AND BIOLOGY, DEDICATED TO 70TH ANNIVERSARY OF SUMGAYIT CITY
On May 11, subject Olympiad on chemistry and biology was held at Sumgayit State University among IX-XI grade schoolchildren of Sumgayit under the motto “Today’s pupil is tomorrow’s scientist”, dedicated to 70th anniversary of Sumgayit city.
The object of holding the Olympiad is to reveal talented children and create circumstances for them in order to display their knowledge and skills in healthy competition environment, according to the order issued by President Ilham Aliyev dated January 26, 2015 on “Development strategy of Azerbaijani youth in 2015-2025”. Sumgayit State University regularly arranges Olympiads on various subjects for schoolchildren.
It should be noted that 36 schoolchildren took part on chemistry from IX grade, 40 from X grade, 15 from XI grade; on biology 43 pupils from IX grade, 25 from X grade, 5 from XI grade. From Russian sector 8 pupils took part on chemistry, 14 from biology.
