On May 30, Republican scientific conference launched at Sumgayit State University on “Actual problems of cadre preparation on specialty of energetics”, dedicated to 70th anniversary of Sumgayit city.

The participants included first deputy head of Sumgayit city Executive Power Teymur Samadov, vice-rectors, structure heads, professors and lecturers of universities of our republic, Atyrau University of Oil and Gas, Kazan State University of Energetics, Pskov State University, representatives of scientific-research Institutes and production enterprises.

Opening the conference by welcome speech, vice-rector on Science and Innovations prof.Ramazan Mammadov delivered greetings of rector of university prof.Elkhan Huseynov to conference attendees. Speaking about cadre reforms conducted by President Ilham Aliyev, he said: “Energetics industry now has quality and structure shortages in specialized cadre provision. This problem is related to difference between the quality of specialist preparation and rapid development dynamics of modern energetics sector. For eliminating the difference between education quality and current demands of advancement of economy, it has become a necessity to establish close relations between industrial enterprises and higher education institutions. At present the enterprises, equipped with modern devices need proficient cadres. These problems could be solved by the universities, which prepare specialists on technical fields. The specialists are prepared for energetics sector in the country in different levels of education. State Programs in this direction are successfully executed, new generation specialists are growing and quality indicators of Azerbaijan higher education system are raising and modernizing by dual diploma programs. Sumgayit State University has also done some works in this direction. The branch of Electromechanics department of SSU launched at Teaching Center of “Azerishiq” OJSC. SSU associates took part in “Professional bachelor in open and distance learning for the energy and environmental performance of buildings in the Russian Federation, China and Azerbaijan” ERASMUS+ project. According to the contract signed within the project, the SSU students, who studied with new education plans prepared on specialty of “Electrical engineering” and had IELTS 6 certificate, the diploma of National Conservatory of France on Arts and Craftsmanship will be given them, along with the diploma of SSU. And also, the preparations are going on for giving dual diplomas between SSU and Kazan State University of Russian Federation”.

First deputy head of Sumgayit city Executive Power Teymur Samadov delivered speech and delivered greetings of Mayor of Sumgayit city Zakir Farajov and talked about the significance of the conference. He emphasized that Sumgayit State University has become the prestigious science and educational center of the country thanks to services of national leader Heydar Aliyev and his political heir President Ilham Aliyev. Professor-teaching staff of SSU has great services in formation of cadre potential, scientific-cultural elite of our city.

The following persons delivered presentation in the conference: director of Teaching Center of “Azerishiq” OJSC Araz Mammadzade – “International model of joint work of education institutions and production enterprises in growing young specialists”, vice-rector on Scientific work and Innovations of Atyrau University of Oil and Gas Alexander Vorobev – “Opportunities of effective application of innovative methods in cadre preparation on specialty of energetics”, head of the Department of Semiconductors physics of BSU prof.Vagif Salmanov – “About preparation of physics engineer”, director of Sumgayit High Voltage Electric Network LLC Khandan Ahmadov – “Establishment history and advancement of Sumgayit HVEN LLC”, dean of the Physics and electroenergetics faculty of SSU Tamella Ahmadova – “Cadre preparation in energetics”. They emphasized that the sector of electroenergetics is one of the significant spheres of fuel and energy complex of every country. “State Program on development of fuel and energy complex of Azerbaijan Republic (2005-2015)” and “Extra measures on bettering electrical energy provision in Azerbaijan Republic” issued by President Ilham Aliyev have had positive impacts on modern development of energetics.

The conference will go on 5 sections within 2 days. 189 reports were accepted to the conference and printed as a conference materials collection.
