On June 13, the training was held on “National Salvation Day-beginning of modern stage of our statehood” at Heydar Aliyev school of Sumgayit State University on occasion of National Salvation Day.

Rector prof.Elkhan Huseynov commenced the event, congratulated the collective on this remarkable day and spoke about glorious life way of national leader Heydar Aliyev, his services for the nation. He said, “June 15 – National Salvation Day is of great significance in statehood history of Azerbaijani people. There was a necessity for the leader, who was able to save the country from civil war, chaos, anarchy that the country faced in June, 1993. On June 9, by the demand of the nation, Heydar Aliyev came to Baku from Nakhchivan and was elected chairman of Supreme Soviet on June 15. Thus, all plans of internal and external enemies disrupted. National leader Heydar Aliyev saved Azerbaijani statehood from the threat with his second return to power, justified the nation’s trust and paved the way for stability and progress. Heydar Aliyev protected our nation’s independence, eliminated socio-political crisis and laid the foundation of development. The historical return saved Azerbaijan from destruction and the threat of civil war. In a word, Heydar Aliyev brought peace, stability, revival and progress with his return. President Ilham Aliyev, the successor of political school of Heydar Aliyev carries on his policy successfully. Our people never forget the services of great savior and celebrate National Salvation Day with enthusiasm”.
