Eurasian Patent Universiade “Looking towards the future” (knowledge contest) was held by the initiative of Intellectual Property Agency and Ministry of Education. The Universiade is attended by students of educational institutions implementing educational programs for secondary general, secondary professional, higher education, as well as other interested persons under the age of 25 in two age categories.

The projects of more than 30 authors from Azerbaijani education institutions have been presented to Organizing Committee of Universiade. The Universiade aims to support talented youth and increase interest to intellectual property issues.

According to the results of competition, the students of lyceum named after academician Zarifa Aliyeva under Ministry of Education Jamila Alizade and Alasgar Tarverdiyev were announced the winners in first age category (from 10 to 17 years). Their joint project “Application of bioplatone for cleaning the water of reservoirs” awarded I place by jury. In addition, the following projects were presented the award of Universiade: in first age category the student of secondary school № 7 Fidan Hasanzade – “The method for detaching naphthenic acids from wastes of alkaline cleaning of diesel fuel”, the schoolchildren of Baku European Lyceum under Ministry of Education Taleh Aliyev and Zarifa Ahmadzade – “Synthesis of new coefficient of oil production”, Leman Aliyeva and Philip Bakaldinin – “Parachute for unmanned aerial vehicles”, Hamid Salimov, Aybeniz Ahmadova and Timur Kalayev - “Piezoelectric anti-icing system”; in the second age category (from 18 to 25 inclusive) the students of Sumgayit State University Seymur Talibov and Tayfun Hajili – “Flexible production module for reconstructing old model cars based on CAD/CAM”.

It should be noted that EPU was instituted in 1994. Our country signed Eurasian Patent Convention on September 9, 1994 and became the full member of organization in 1995.
