THE PARTICIPANTS OF THE STUDENT SUMMER SCHOOL GOT ACQUAINTED WITH UNIVERSITY’S SPECIALIZED AUDITORIUMS
Russian students got acquainted with the university after opening ceremony of “Travel to Land of Fire Azerbaijan” Student Summer School at Sumgayit State University, which was organized by support of Education Ministry and initiative of Association of Russian-Azerbaijani Universities. They visited various laboratories and specialized auditoriums.
Associate professor of the Faculty of History and geography Amirkhan Isayev acquainted the guests with the general history study room. He told students that the room has 4 stands reflecting 4 historical periods: ancient, Middle Ages, new and modern.
Assoc.prof. Amirkhan Isayev told students that Armenian nationalists made claims not only against Azerbaijan, but also Russian territories, mainly in the territory along the Volga River. It was noted that at the beginning of the 19th century, Armenia came up with the crazy idea of creating a “Great Armenia” and occupying Azerbaijani lands. To this end, Armenians committed numerous terrorist acts, violence and murder.
Then the guests got acquainted with the study room of Azerbaijani history. Docent Elmar Khalilov noted that in the room there are maps of Azerbaijan, from ancient times to the present, as well as portraits of state and political figures, photographs of the most important historical material monuments on the territory of Azerbaijan. The cabinet also contains samples of the emblems of the provinces of Azerbaijan during the rule of Tsarist Russia. Docent E. Khalilov spoke about friendship and good neighborly relations between Russia and Azerbaijan.
Docent Amirkhan Isayev told the guests about the international relations of Azerbaijan, the social, cultural and economic development of the country, the domestic and foreign policy of the national leader Heydar Aliyev and the head of state Ilham Aliyev in the development of the republic.
