PARTICIPANTS OF “TRAVEL TO LAND OF FIRE AZERBAIJAN” SUMMER SCHOOL VISITED BSU
The participants of “Travel to Land of Fire Azerbaijan” Summer School organized at Sumgayit State University by support of Ministry of Education and initiative of Association of Russian-Azerbaijani Universities visited Baku State University and took part in round table entitled “Russian-Azerbaijan cooperation in the sphere of science and higher education”.
Professor Irada Aliyeva, vice-rector for educational process and teaching technologies at BSU, welcomed the guests and noted that the university marks its 100th anniversary this year. She spoke about the history of BSU and its mutual cooperation with Russian universities.
The participants of the Summer school were introduced to educational and research laboratories, the museum and university centers, and also visited the Russian Center.
It is worth to note that students of such Russian universities as Samara State Technical University, Ural State Mining University, Russian State Special Pedagogical University, North Caucasus Federal University, Kuban State University, Dagestan State University, as well as students of Azerbaijani universities took part in Summer school. III course student of Philology faculty of Baku State University Sona Ismayilova and senior student Zumrud Mammadova represented BSU in Summer school.
Then the participants became familiar with Baku Mountain Park. A beautiful view of the city and the Baku bay opens from here. This factor was taken into account when preparing the master plan for Baku in the 30s of the 20th century, which envisages the importance of the Mountain Park in the overall composition of the city. This park has become a favorite vacation spot for residents and guests of the capital. The funicular connects Azneft square with the Mountain Park.
Guests had the opportunity to admire the beauty of Baku from the height of the Mountain Park.
