SSU REPRESENTATIVES TOOK PART IN ERASMUS + TRAINING AT BAKU EURASIA UNIVERSITY
On October 11, the training on the ERASMUS + programs was held at Baku Eurasian University.
The main purpose of the event is to inform higher education representatives on the opportunities provided by the ERASMUS + program for Azerbaijani universities, existing programs (ERASMUS Mundus, Horizon 2020, Jean Monnet), and develop project writing skills.
Parviz Bagirov, representative of the ERASMUS + National Office, said in his speech that the essence of ERASMUS+ program is relevant to strategic targets of Ministry. He also said that the basic principle of the Bologna process is the internationalization of education. As part of this, the Ministry of Education is working to strengthen the integration of Azerbaijani education in a single European educational space. At the same time, it was noted that it is very important to ensure the mobility of students, the application of international experience in educational curricula.
The representative of the ERASMUS + National Office Zafar Hasanov made a presentation on the ERASMUS + program in Azerbaijan and the role of the National Office. He noted that the ERASMUS + National Office is conducting this program in our country with the support of the European Commission, Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA) and national authorities. ERASMUS + National Office actively monitors the development of education policy in Azerbaijan, especially in the field of higher education.
Afterwards there were given information about application of Capacity Building in the field of Higher Education (CBHE) program in Azerbaijan, as well as about novel programs, their main directions and application rules. Several university representatives spoke about their participation in ERASMUS+ program.
The ERASMUS + program allows 4 million people to get an education, gain work experience, and participate as volunteers in foreign countries.
Representatives of 17 Azerbaijani universities attended the training. Sumgayit State University was represented at the event by the head of Science Section assoc. prof.Samir Orujov, head of Department of Electromechanics of Faculty of Physics and Electroenergetics assoc.prof. Turgay Huseynov and the head of Department of International Cooperation Samira Mammadova.
