AWARDED THE WINNERS OF THE ESSAY CONTEST
Within the framework of the Association of Russian-Azerbaijani universities, on the initiative of the Ufa State Petroleum Technological University, an essay contest was held on the theme “Nobody is forgotten, nothing is forgotten”, dedicated to the 74th anniversary of victory in the Great Patriotic War. The competition was attended by teachers and students of SSU, whose essays were published in the form of a collection. On October 30, SSU hosted the awarding ceremony of the competition.
The event was opened by the vice-rector for International Relations of the University, associate professor Gafar Atayev. He spoke about the significance of the event and the active participation of our compatriots in the Great Patriotic War, their role in the struggle for the liberation of the country from fascism. He noted that since 2015, SSU has become a member of the Association of Russian-Azerbaijani universities. The Association includes 36 universities from Russia and 17 from Azerbaijan. Within the framework of associations, leading employees, scientists, students of SSU participate in forums and in various events. At the same time, scientists from Russia participate in scientific conferences held at SSU and their articles are published in the journal Scientific News published by SSU. Also, from July 14 to 21, this year, with the support of the Ministry of Education of the Azerbaijan Republic and organizational support of the Association of Russian-Azerbaijani Universities, SSU organized a Summer School for Students “Travel to the Land of Fire Azerbaijan”. As part of the Summer School, various seminars, meetings, round tables, and excursions were held. About 70 students and university teachers from the Russian Federation and Azerbaijan participated in the Summer School. Holding this school testifies to the expansion of scientific, educational, economic and cultural ties between Russia and Azerbaijan.
Head of Department of International Cooperation, PhD in history Samira Mammadova spoke about the programs and international projects implemented at the university. She also notified that such projects as Twining, TAIEX, Erasmus + KA2, and the Mevlana Exchange Program are being implemented at SSU.
In conclusion, the vice-rector for International Relations, associate professor Gafar Atayev presented the books entitled "Nobody is forgotten, nothing is forgotten" and diplomas to the winners of the contest.
