AN INFORMATIONAL EVENT ON “STRUGGLE AGAINST HUMAN TRAFFICKING”
On November 5, an informational event was held on “Struggle against Human Trafficking” at Sumgayit State University by organization of “Support the police” public unity within “National Action Plan on Struggle against Human Trafficking of Azerbaijan Republic”.
Commencing the event by welcome speech, vice-rector for Humanitarian Issues docent Ramiz Huseynov hailed the guests and spoke about significance of awareness raising activities for the purpose of fighting against human trafficking. He highlighted the role of cooperation of international and non-governmental organizations and media in delivering and disseminating information about achievement gained in combat against human trafficking. And also vice-rector opined that at present fight against this crime is at a high level in Azerbaijan and Head Office of Struggle against Human Trafficking combats effectively against it.
Head of “Support the police” public unity Shamsaddin Aliyev gave information about the role of society in combat against human trafficking and serious crimes, elimination and prophylaxis of conditions and reasons of such crimes, as well as history of trafficking and statistics. He also spoke about organizational and operational measures implemented in this direction, complications caused by human trafficking and the works done in our country to struggle against this problem.
In the end the video on human trafficking was demonstrated and the booklets were distributed to attendees.
