On November 14, the event was held in Assembly Hall of Sumgayit State University on occasion of 9 November-State Flag Day, 12 November – Constitution Day and 17 November- National Revival Day, which are remarkable days of our independence history. It should be noted that the events and round tables dedicated to these historical days are also arranged in all faculties for raising respect to our homeland, flag and constitution.

After sounding State anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan, rector of university Professor Elkhan Huseynov launched the event, congratulated the attendees and spoke about the services of national leader Heydar Aliyev in preserving our national statehood, his care to the tricolor flag, as well as the significance of the Constitution as a document reflecting existence of our government. Rector noted that State flag was adopted in the meeting of Azerbaijan Democratic Republic on November 9, 1918 and owned state status till April, 1920. “The flag was declared as the State flag of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic in the session held by leadership of Great leader Heydar Aliyev, head of the Supreme Council of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic on November 17, 1990. On October 18, 1991, by Constitutional act “About state independence of Azerbaijan Republic”, Azerbaijan Republic restored state symbols, as well as state flag of Azerbaijan Democratic Republic as its successor. Establishment of State Flag Square in Baku, institution of State Flag Day and orders signed by President Ilham Aliyev on tricolor flag demonstrate everlasting love to the state symbols”. Professor Elkhan Huseynov highlighted that the main principles of our Constitution are directed for long-term future of sovereign Azerbaijan. Then emphasizing historical importance of National Revival Day, the rector notified that revival for our statehood gained in the administration of national leader Heydar Aliyev and President Ilham Aliyev. He noted with certainty that our occupied territories will be liberated soon under the leadership of Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev and Azerbaijani flag will wave in Garabagh, Khankendi, Shusha.

Afterwards senior lecturer of Department of Philosophy, sociology and political science, PhD in philosophy Osman Hajiyev delivered speech about historical importance of State Flag Day, Constitution Day and National Revival Day.

In the end of the event the spectacle was displayed on “Sacred trinity”, performed by students.
