SSU HOSTED BIBLIOTHERAPY FOR STUDENTS, STUDYING THE SPECIALTIES OF PSYCHOLOGY AND SOCIO-PSYCHOLOGICAL SERVICE IN EDUCATION
“Step” Public Unity for Youth Development Center and Azerbaijan Youth Foundation announce the project “Book therapy for young psychologist students” at higher education institutions. The following bibliotherapy within the project was organized at Sumgayit State University on the base of novel “Metamorphosis” by Franz Kafka.
Dean of the Faculty of Philology docent Sevinj Hamzayeva commenced the event with welcome speech, hailed the attendees and highlighted the project importance. She noted that the project “Bibliotherapy” is distinguished by its specificity.
Chairwoman of the Department of Pedagogy and psychology docent Aytekin Mammadova delivered speech and noted that this kind of projects will be a great experience in enhancing skills and knowledge of students.
Afterwards leading psychologist of bibliotherapy Kamil Hamidov gave broad information about this method.
The future psychologists applied the method of bibliotherapy thanks to psychological discussion of the novel “Metamorphosis” by Franz Kafka by moderation of Kamil Hamidov. The psychologist distributed the students his book in which theoretical and practical aspects of “Book therapy” were described comprehensively. The Public Unity considers that if extensive work is carried out in direction of increasing practical professional skills of the future psychologists, the number of social phobia, child depression, social adaptation problems, suicides, bullying and other negative cases will go down to the minimum.
In the end of the event the certificates were presented to the students by Azerbaijan Youth Foundation and “Step” Public Unity for Youth Development Center.
