With the creation of the New Azerbaijan Party, a new stage has begun in the political life of sovereign Azerbaijan. This party came to the aid of the people in the most difficult historical period of its life and has been tirelessly serving its people for 27 years. In this regard, a seminar "New Azerbaijan Party - yesterday, today and tomorrow of sovereign Azerbaijan" was held at the Heydar Aliyev School of Sumgayit State University.

The event was opened by the rector of the university, Professor Elkhan Huseynov. He spoke about the history of the creation of the New Azerbaijan Party, about the glorious path it has traveled over 27 years, its activities, and services to the Azerbaijani people. Describing the socio-political situation in Azerbaijan at that time, the rector noted that Azerbaijan was on the verge of a split. In such a situation, the intelligentsia of Azerbaijan saw a way out only in the return of national leader Heydar Aliyev to power in the country, and under his leadership an initiative was put forward to create the New Azerbaijan Party. Thus, on November 21, 1992, the constituent conference of the New Azerbaijan Party was held in Nakhchivan. The establishment of the party and the consent of the national leader to lead it strengthened the faith of the Azerbaijani people in the future. The New Azerbaijan Party created the prerequisites for development not only in the political field, but carried out numerous projects of a social, economic and cultural nature. The creation of the New Azerbaijan Party was a requirement of both time and people.

Further, the rector noted that after ensuring socio-political stability in the country, Heydar Aliyev outlined a development strategy for Azerbaijan. The policy, the foundation of which was laid by the national leader, is being successfully continued by President Ilham Aliyev. Thanks to him, today our country has gained authority among world states. As the ruling party, the New Azerbaijan Party, led by President Ilham Aliyev, is a worthy successor to the legacy of a nationwide leader.

The following persons made reports in the event: Professor Shirkhan Salimov, Chair of the Department of History of the Peoples of Azerbaijan and Eastern Europe with a report “New Azerbaijan Party - Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow of Sovereign Azerbaijan”, Amirkhan Isayev, associate professor of the Department of History of the Peoples of Azerbaijan and Eastern Europe, head of the Career Center with a report “Socio-Political situation in Azerbaijan on the eve of the creation of the New Azerbaijan Party ”, deputy chairman of the Sumgayit city organization of the New Azerbaijan Party on Youth Work , associate professor of the Department of the History of the Peoples of Azerbaijan and Eastern Europe Elmar Khalilov with a report “New Azerbaijan Party"s efforts to implement the ideas of Heydar Aliyev,” third-year student of the Faculty of Mathematics Najaf Najafzade with a report “The role of the New Azerbaijan Party in the development of the young generation. " Speakers spoke in their reports on the merits of the New Azerbaijan Party in the country"s socio-political life. It was noted that all the successes in preserving state sovereignty, wide and large-scale reforms in Azerbaijan are connected with the name of the founder of the New Azerbaijan party, national leader Heydar Aliyev. The policy pursued by this ruling party strengthens its position and authority.

In conclusion, a group of youth was presented with membership cards of the New Azerbaijan Party.
