AN EDUCATIONAL EVENT ON THE TOPIC “RELIGIOUS EXTREMISM AND DISCRIMINATION” AT SSU
On December 6, an educational event "Religious Extremism and Discrimination" was held at the Faculty of History and Geography at the Sumgayit State University with the organizational support of the Student Youth Organization.
The event opened with senior lecturer of the Department of Philosophy, Sociology and Political Science Gunel Adigozalova. She said that all conditions have been created in the country for the development of state-religion relations, the recognition of Azerbaijan as a center of tolerance in the world, and the fact that state-religion relations have been laid down by nationwide leader Heydar Aliyev. It was noted that historically in Azerbaijan, representatives of various nationalities and religions have always lived side by side, who respected each other's language, religion and traditions.
G. Adigozalova gave students recommendations and advised avoiding religious extremist organizations.
Parvin Aslanov, chairman of the SYO for the Faculty of History and Geography, told the meeting about extremism and radicalism and the reasons for their occurrence.
Then the answers to students' questions were given.
