THE CLOSING AND AWARDING CEREMONY OF THE III DEBATE FORUM
On December 7, Sumgayit State University hosted the closing and awarding ceremony of the 3rd Debate “Environmental standards in investment projects should be preferred to economic indicators”.
Speaking at the award ceremony, the head of the Committee of Free Trade Unions, associate professor Elmar Khalilov spoke about the special role of debate in youth development, the activities and achievements of the National Debate Program. He wished success to the teams participating in the final round.
Ismayil Gahramanov, head of the Project department of Debate in Civil Society said that via the debate, young people learn oratory, develop the ability to persuade and influence, develop their critical thinking, and the ability to analyze problems that are relevant to our society.
The chairman of the debate club Emil Mammadov informed about the rules of the final game and introduced the teams.
In the final, competed "Elite" team of the Faculty of Mathematics and "Istiglal" of the Faculty of History and Geography. The winner of the final was the Istiglal team.
All participants of the final game and other distinguished speakers were awarded.
At the award ceremony, vice-rector for Humanitarian Affairs associate professor Ramiz Huseynov spoke about the history of the debate, emphasizing the importance of holding such debates, tournaments and forums for young people. The vice-rector congratulated all the participants in the debates who took part in the final round.
At the end of the event, the winning team was awarded a cup and a medal. The best speakers also received the medal, and all other participants received certificates.
