On December 20, an educational event “Combating bad habits” was held at the Faculty of Engineering by organization of Student Youth Organization.

The event was opened by associate professor Ulduz Aghayev. He notified that bad habits like cigarettes, alcohol and drug addiction needed to be fought. For this purpose, the university holds educational events, students are instilled a healthy lifestyle. One of the main activities of the state is the protection of public health, the promotion of a healthy lifestyle, and preventive work with bad habits among young people. “The State Program on Combating Illicit Trafficking in Drugs, Psychotropic Substances and Their Precursors for 2019-2024”, signed by President Ilham Aliyev, is an important step in the fight against bad habits. This document says that in the fight against this evil, individual state structures, non-governmental organizations, the media, law enforcement agencies, the education system and health care should coordinate their actions. Urgent measures must be taken to combat the spread of these bad habits among young people and adolescents.

Afterward, the chairman of the SYO Shafiga Kazimova and first-year student activists Leyla Guliyeva and Gudrat Aghazade spoke on the topic.

In conclusion, certificates were handed to active participants in the project “Volunteer land - Azerbaijan 2019”.
