ACADEMIC AND STUDENT STAFF OF THE FACULTY OF PHYSICS AND ELECTROENERGETICS VISITED THE MARTYRS' LANE
Thirty years have passed since the events of January 20, 1990, written in the history of Azerbaijan as a struggle for pride and honor. The people of Azerbaijan always commemorate January 20 with great respect. President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev signed the Decree dated December 13, 2019, on the thirtieth anniversary of the January 20 tragedy. The Decree includes the commemoration of the 30th anniversary of the January 20 tragedy in the territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan and abroad, the preparation and implementation of a plan of events for the anniversary. As in all regions of the country, the events of January 20 are commemorated by a series of events at Sumgayit State University every year. Despite all these years, the people do not forget the martyrs of the January 20 tragedy, they remember those who died for our freedom with great respect and always honor their spirit.
On January 18, dean of the Faculty of Physics and Electroenergetics, associate professor Tamella Ahmedova, academic and student staff visited the Martyrs’ Lane Complex in Baku on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the January 20 tragedy. They remembered the memory of our sons and daughters who sacrificed their lives for the freedom and sovereignty of the homeland, and placed fresh carnations on their graves.
