On February 21, a meeting of volunteers of New Azerbaijan Party was held in the Executive Secretariat of the YAP.

The meeting was attended by the deputy Prime Minister, Deputy Chairman of the New Azerbaijan Party, Executive Secretary Ali Ahmedov and members of the Presidium and Political Council. At first a video was shown dedicated to New Azerbaijan Party volunteers.

Afterwards the chairman of the Youth Association Seymur Orujov delivered speech and said, “The rapid development of Azerbaijan in all areas of society is reflected in youth policy. President Ilham Aliyev pays special attention to the most active part of the country's population - youth. Youth policy implemented in the Republic of Azerbaijan can serve as an example for other countries. In turn, the Azerbaijani youth is actively involved in the socio-political, socio-economic and cultural life of the republic. Most importantly, they always stand guard over national interests and honorably fulfill their duties. It should be noted that one of the factors determining the effectiveness of youth policy is the voluntary activity of youth. The volunteer movement unites people around a single idea and is one of the most successful forms of joint cooperation between citizens, society and the state. Also, the voluntary movement is a school of citizenship, an example of commitment and service to its people, the state and national moral values. President Ilham Aliyev and first Vice-President Mehriban Aliyeva pay special attention to the volunteer movement. Evidence of this is the announcement by the head of state of 2020 as the “Year of Volunteers”. Party youth is actively involved in the volunteer movement and numerous projects. In this process, party leadership provides volunteers with great support”.

The event was also attended by the chairman of the Youth Association of the New Azerbaijan Party for Ganja city Kamran Abbasov, chairman for Terter city Turana Mammadzade, deputy chairman for Ujar region Inji Ahmadzade and chairman for the Oguz region Elshan Aljansoy, who in their speeches noted the importance of declaring 2020 the “Year of Volunteers” and spoke about the activities of their organizations.

In conclusion, New Azerbaijan Party volunteers were awarded in various nominations. First-year master student of the Faculty of Physics and Electroenergetics of Sumgayit State University Nijat Huseynov was awarded for his active participation in social projects.
