THE VICTIMS OF KHOJALY TRAGEDY COMMEMORATED AT THE FACULTY OF CHEMISTRY AND BIOLOGY
On February 21, at the Faculty of Chemistry and Biology, an event dedicated to the 28th anniversary of the Khojaly genocide was organized by SYO and STUO.
After commemorating the massacre victims with a minute’s silence, the National anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan was played.
Musa Mustafayev, head of the Department of Chemistry and its teaching methods, opening the event with the words of national leader Heydar Aliyev: “The Khojaly tragedy is a bloody page of the policy of Armenian nationalists towards our people for more than two hundred years”, gave detailed information about the Khojaly genocide.
Then Parviz Jafarov, senior lecturer at the Department of Azerbaijani and Eastern European nations’ history spoke about the Khojaly genocide and aggression of Armenia, noting that the Armenian occupation policy poses a threat not only to Azerbaijan, but also to the entire region.
The speakers also spoke about some aspects of the atrocities of Armenians during the Karabakh war and the horrors of the Khojaly tragedy.
Students performed the poem “Khojaly mourning, Khojaly Genocide”, the songs “Carnation”, “Voice of the land”, “Mr. Lieutenant”.
