The Coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19), which is affecting the world today, is spreading rapidly around the world. Taking into consideration that the World Health Organization has declared a coronavirus infection a global pandemic, and based on the recommendations and requirements of the World Health Organization to prevent the virus, there is a need to implement a number of urgent measures in the country. The situation with coronavirus infection is under the strict control of President Ilham Aliyev. At the state level, all necessary steps have been taken to prevent the spread of coronavirus in Azerbaijan, to protect the health of the population, and preventive measures have been taken at the highest level. In order to prevent the danger of coronavirus infection and increase the effectiveness of appropriate preventive measures, consistent work has been carried out at Sumgayit State University. Necessary enlightenment measures were organized and disinfection was carried out during the non-stop education. Guided by the principles of "Stay home, don’t stay away from education", the teaching process at SSU is organized online (remotely) based on WhatsApp groups, Moodle system developed by Erasmus + project (moodle.sdu.edu.az), Microsoft Teams (teams.microsoft.com) platform in accordance with the instructions and recommendations of the Ministry of Education, as well as via Zoom Cloud Meetings. The Faculty of History and Geography also continues its classes online in accordance with the current situation.

The Department of History and its teaching methods of the Faculty of History and Geography continues classes in all groups of specialties of History, History teaching, History and geography teaching, second year in Political Science in various subjects online (remotely) via WhatsApp groups, Moodle system, Microsoft Teams platform, as well as Zoom Cloud Meetings.

Employees of the department also conducted classes for part-time groups 817-1, 818-1 and 819-1 of the specialty of History through the above-mentioned programs, students were provided with all necessary teaching materials.
