SSU FACULTY MEMBERS TOOK PART IN AN EXTENDED WEBINAR OF “CLARIVATE ANALYTICS”
One of the main goals of the concept of our country “Azerbaijan 2020: A look into the future” is the possibility of their accessibility, information for each member of society. This also applies to scientific information. The formation of a country's scientific rating at the international level depends on the publication of scientific works in international databases and references to them, and the possibility of providing scientists with the use of these scientometric databases. One of the main factors that have a positive impact on the dynamics of scientific productivity is the expansion of cooperation with international scientific bases. From this point of view, the services provided by “Clarivate Analytics” help to bring the world standards of scientific research conducted in our country, and enable our scientists to receive information about ongoing research in the world. Through this information base, our scientists can conduct a comparative assessment of scientific journals in their specialties and effectively select journals for the publication of their scientific works.
Despite the fact that many during the pandemic had to work at home (remotely), this situation did not cause a suspension of the exchange of scientific information between our scientists and a decrease in the opportunities for their professional development.
On April 24, the Web of Science Group, in order to support its listeners, conducted an expanded webinar on the topic “Tools for the ethics of scientific publications and improving their quality: Internet science and plagiarism” for the faculty members of SSU, vice-rectors, deans of faculties, head of departments, supervisors and doctoral students. Valentin Bogorov, head of the Clarivate Analytics educational programs, and Yuri Chekhovich, executive director of the company “Antiplagiarism”, gave lectures on “Scientific journals: good, bad and predatory” and “Antiplagiarism: how to turn one problem into helpers.”
It should be noted that access to the Clarivate Analytics database and the use of the Antiplagiarism system contribute to the development of science at SSU, the expansion of international cooperation, and the increase in the publication of university scientists in prestigious journals.
