On May 8, an event was held at the Faculty of Economics and Management of Sumgayit State University by organization of Student Youth Organization, dedicated to the 97th anniversary of national leader Heydar Aliyev.

The event was opened by the dean of the Faculty, associate professor Aynura Yahyayeva. She spoke about the great glorious and rich life path of the national leader, his social and political activities. She noted that the life and activities of Heydar Aliyev were devoted to the development of our country, the well-being of the people, and the improvement of their standard of living. In the most difficult moments, he was next to his people, successfully fulfilling the mission of a defender of the country's citizens. The invaluable legacy of the national leader, who became the architect of sovereign Azerbaijan, has become the national wealth of our republic. It was emphasized that Heydar Aliyev, who saved the country from a split, put an end to crises and chaos, prevented a civil war in Azerbaijan, and created political stability in the republic. As a result of the wisdom, foresight and political will of the national leader in the country, large-scale economic reforms were carried out, as in other areas of the life of the republic. The strategy of Heydar Aliyev, pursued in the direction of creating a long, sustainable innovative and socially oriented economy, including in the field of the oil industry, the agricultural sector, the development of entrepreneurship, the creation of new production capacities, the establishment of ties with foreign financial institutions, laid the foundation for the dynamic development of the economy in the subsequent years. Azerbaijan, which has taken its rightful place in the world, has now become the political, economic and cultural center of the region. Our country is currently characterized by political stability, sustainable economic development. Domestic and foreign policy, economic stability, the foundation of which was laid by the national leader Heydar Aliyev, is now successfully continued by President Ilham Aliyev. This suggests that in the future our country will strengthen its policy in all areas, both regionally and globally. The development and sustainability strategy developed by the national leader Heydar Aliyev and today leads our people to new victories.

Galib Huseynov, head of the Department of Business administration and management, noted that Heydar Aliyev, who became the head of the country in the first years of independence, gradually solved all the problems in the republic, achieved its political and economic stability, and increased the prestige of Azerbaijan in the world community.

Associate professor Tarana Ahmedova, students of the faculty Ulvi Mammadov, Aysel Nasirova and Aytaj Sahibzade in their speeches said that due to the political experience and will, the wisdom of the national leader Heydar Aliyev in the country, it was possible to prevent a civil war, strengthen the National Army, and stop further occupation of our lands, cease hostilities. In a short time, Azerbaijan has achieved socio-political and economic stability.
