On May 28, a webinar dedicated to May 28 - Republic Day was organized by the Student Youth Organization at the Faculty of Philology.

Opening the webinar with the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan, dean of the Faculty Sevinj Hamzayeva congratulated the staff and students on May 28 - Republic Day, noting that 102 years have passed since the establishment of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic, the first secular democratic state in the Muslim East. She noted that May 28, which is part of the glorious history of our people, is the day of the establishment of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic. Today, the people of Azerbaijan celebrate May 28 with great joy as the most significant event in its glorious history, a chronicle of honor and pride. The Azerbaijan Democratic Republic, which created the first democratic state in the East, has demonstrated the determination of our people to declare our independence. The dean also noted that the ideas of Azerbaijan"s centuries-old statehood have been revived in a new, progressive form. The short but bright destiny of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic has left a deep mark on our national self-consciousness. Its ideas and heritage have formed the historical and spiritual foundation of our modern statehood. After our people regained their state independence in the new historical conditions, our national leader Heydar Aliyev created an independent Azerbaijani state based on the traditions of the Democratic Republic. Today, under the leadership of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, our country has passed a great and rich path of development. First Vice President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mehriban Aliyeva has also rendered invaluable services to the rapid development of our country. Comprehensive reforms implemented in our country have entered a new stage. The recent orders, decrees and decisions signed by President Ilham Aliyev set important and responsible tasks before us. We must strive to train highly qualified personnel for our country that meet the requirements and challenges of modern times.

Then the head of the Department of Azerbaijani language and its teaching methods, associate professor Boyukkhanim Eminli, associate professor Tora Mammadova, chairman of the Student Youth Organization Tayfun Hajili said that May 28 entered the history of the Azerbaijani people as a bright page forever. Despite the fact that the first democratic republic of our people, longing for independence and national freedom for centuries, lived only a short time - only 23 months, its period of activity is one of the most memorable stages in the history of our national statehood. The head of state has repeatedly proved that he is a great patron of national and spiritual values and historical heritage. On the basis of the Order of President Ilham Aliyev dated May 16, 2017 "On the 100th anniversary of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic", the 100th anniversary of the establishment of the republic was widely celebrated in our country. The proclamation of the year as the "Year of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic" was a clear manifestation of the high respect and esteem shown to the founders of the republic. Today, the people of Azerbaijan are also proud that our statehood has never been so strong.

A group of students of the faculty Aynura Aliyeva, Natavan Rustamova, Natavan Bozgurdlu, Umbul Salmanli, Fidan Musazade, Imran Huseynli, Elvin Abbasli, Elman Mammadzade, Aysel Abdurrahmanova, Ulker Akbarova, Fatima Mursaliyeva sang poems on patriotism.
