On October 2, the next online meeting of the Scientific Council of Sumgayit State University was held in video conference format. Welcoming the participants, Rector Professor Elkhan Huseynov said that the next provocation committed by the Armenian armed forces against Azerbaijan on September 27 proved once again that the enemy is not interested in the peaceful settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. In violation of international law, the Armenian armed forces targeted civilians and settlements in Azerbaijan, resulting in casualties among the civilian population. Undoubtedly, this was a logical continuation of the provocation committed in the direction of Tovuz region in July. Armenia's political and military leadership has demonstrated not only its unwillingness to continue negotiations, but also its intention to seize new territories. After the Tovuz provocation was repulsed by our heroic army, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev said that if another provocation was committed against Azerbaijan, Armenia would regret it and respond adequately to the enemy. Apparently, the Armenian leadership did not understand these realities and once again demonstrates its criminal, aggressive nature. Recently, as a result of the wise, far-sighted, balanced policy of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Ilham Aliyev, a partial mobilization was announced. The rector also noted that in such a sensitive period, all institutions, private enterprises and businessmen working in the country show that they are with the Supreme Commander-in-Chief and our National Army, not in words, but in deeds. The number of supporters of Azerbaijan's fighting on the frontline is constantly growing. Every Azerbaijani, as always, proves once again that unity today. In order to support our army in the fierce battles for the liberation of our lands in the frontline, the staff of Sumgayit State University, realizing its responsibility, voluntarily applied to the Armed Forces Assistance Fund of the Republic of Azerbaijan to provide material and moral support to our Army. This proves once again that the staff of SSU is always behind our state, our Supreme Commander-in-Chief, our National Army. We are confident that our flag will soon be raised in Khankendi and Shusha.

Natig Talibov, vice-rector for Teaching Organization and Training Technologies, spoke in detail about the organization of education at Sumgayit State University in accordance with the Cabinet of Ministers' "Temporary Rules for the organization of teaching and learning process in educational institutions operating in the Republic of Azerbaijan during the Special Quarantine Regime". Proposals submitted by the university to the Ministry of Education were accepted and 50 points should be applied to the activity during the semester, i.e. to the current assessment, and the other 50 to the exam results, i.e. to the intermediate assessment, in accordance with the 100-point grading system.

Vice-rector for Science and Innovations, Professor Ramazan Mammadov spoke about the support of the university staff to the Azerbaijani Army and the assistance of employees to the Defense Fund of the Republic of Azerbaijan. He noted that by announcing a partial mobilization in the country, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, the people voluntarily mobilize in accordance with the Order of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief, provide soldiers with food, water, etc. they help to meet their needs, they try to donate blood to help the wounded. Employees of Sumgayit State University also applied to join the army voluntarily. At the same time, in order to provide material and moral support to our Army, our employees voluntarily applied to transfer a certain percentage of their salaries to the Armed Forces Assistance Fund of the Republic of Azerbaijan. I am confident that our lands occupied by the invading Armenians will soon be liberated as a result of the successful attacks of our heroic army, and our nation will experience the joy of victory!
