SSU HOSTED THE II INTERNATIONAL SCIENTIFIC CONFERENCE ON "ACTUAL PROBLEMS OF APPLIED PHYSICS AND ENERGETICS" IN VIDEO CONFERENCE FORMAT
On November 12, Sumgayit State University hosted the II International Scientific Conference on "Actual Problems of Applied Physics and Energetics" in the format of a video conference jointly organized by Sumgayit State University and Kazan State Power Engineering University.
Along with Azerbaijani universities, the conference was attended by scientists from leading universities in Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, Georgia, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, as well as other countries.
Opening the conference, Vice-Rector for Science and Innovations of Sumgayit State University Professor Ramazan Mammadov conveyed the greetings the rector of the university, Professor Elkhan Huseynov, wished success to the conference and congratulated the participants on the glorious victory of the Azerbaijani people in the Great Patriotic War. He said that this historic victory is a victory of the Azerbaijani army, its Supreme Commander-in-Chief and the entire Azerbaijani people. He noted that national and international events and conferences in all scientific areas have been organized at our university in an online format, and dozens of our scientists have successfully participated in international conferences and made presentations. At the same time, our relations with a number of universities around the world are being strengthened in connection with scientific cooperation. Holding such conferences serves not only to develop the scientific environment at the university, but also to strengthen ties between higher education institutions. Speaking about the importance of the conference, the vice-rector said that this conference is the second conference dedicated to the topic. Much attention has been paid to the development of the energy sector, radical reforms have been carried out in the country"s electricity sector, and consistent and comprehensive measures have been taken to create an excellent infrastructure in this area. There is a need for scholars to exchange views on the achievements in the field since the last conference and the tasks ahead.
Irina Akhmetova, Vice-Rector for Scientific Affairs, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Kazan State Power Engineering University, greeted the conference participants and said that the conference was dedicated to a very important issue. She stressed that the purpose of the international scientific conference is to bring together scientists from various universities, academies and research institutes around the world, to share scientific achievements and experiences in this field.
Corresponding member of ANAS, Vice-Rector for Scientific Affairs of the National Aviation Academy Afig Hasanov, speaking on "Computer-controlled acousto-optic deceleration line", noted that as a result of scientific research in this field, direct detector and heterodyne-type acousto-optic delay lines have been created, their theoretical foundations have been developed. These delay lines were used to compensate for time distortions of signals, broadband monitoring of radio sources, tracking reception of frequency modulated signals and other issues, and appropriate devices and systems were created.
Natalia Chichirova, Head of the Department of Thermal Power Plants, Director of the Institute of Thermal Power Engineering, Kazan State Power Engineering University, spoke on "Prospects for the development of electricity generation in Russia." She gave detailed information on the work carried out to modernize the electric generating power in the Russian Federation.
Vice-Rector for Humanitarian Affairs of Sumgayit State University Ramiz Huseynov congratulated the participants on the historic victory of our brave Army under the leadership of President, Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev and November 12 - Constitution Day of the Republic of Azerbaijan. He noted that the conference was dedicated to a topical issue. He noted that during the presidency, comprehensive measures were taken to fundamentally modernize the country"s energy system, restore lost generation capacity, build many power plants, and thus Azerbaijan has become one of the world"s leading countries in this area. Thus, significant progress has been made in this area, which is considered a priority. Associate Professor Ramiz Huseynov made a report on "Current state and prospects of the study of direct current transmission."
Professor Mahammadali Zarbaliyev, Head of the Department of Solid State and Semiconductor Physics, Sumgayit State University, made a report on "Electrical and thermal properties of discharge systems", Adamia Zurab, Professor of the Institute of Cybernetics, Georgian Technical University, made a presentation on "The effect of precursor thickness and pb (bo2) 2 doping on the superconducting properties of Bi (Pb) -2223 ceramics (IC TU)."
The Dean of the Faculty of Physics and Electroenergetics, Associate Professor Tamella Ahmadova, congratulated the participants on the victory of the Azerbaijani Army in Nagorno-Karabakh, announced on November 10. She noted that the international conference was important for the development of relations.
Executive Secretary Turgay Huseynov, Head of the Department of Electromechanics of the Faculty of Physics and Electroenergetics, informed about the further work of the conference. He said that the conference will continue for two days after the plenary session on 7 sections. 109 theses were accepted for the conference and published in the form of a collection of conference materials.
