STATE MIGRATION SERVICE HELD AN ONLINE MEETING WITH THE REPRESENTATIVES OF HIGHER EDUCATION INSTITUTIONS
On November 10, State Migration Service held a meeting with Ministry of Education, as well as representatives of higher education institutions of our country in video conference format.
Speaking at the event, Tamilla Hajiyeva, deputy head of the Migration Service of the State Migration Service, Migration Service Advisor, informed about the benefits provided to foreign teachers and students studying in our country in connection with the coronavirus pandemic and said that foreigners and stateless persons must be registered at the actual place of residence in the country. A foreigner who has received a temporary residence permit in the Republic must apply to the State Migration Service for registration of a new place of residence no later than 10 days in case of change of residence. He noted that the Ministry of Education, foreign students and teachers who change their place of residence should be informed about the expelled foreigners within 3 working days, and the relevant agency within 10 days.
She also reminded that foreigners whose temporary stay has been extended for up to 60 days are not held administratively liable when they apply for a temporary residence permit even after that period. Citizens can also ask questions about migration legislation by contacting the 919 Call Center of the State Migration Service and its "online guide" service, the official Facebook, Instagram and Twitter pages of the Service.
It was also stressed that due to the pandemic period, foreigners whose passports have expired will be given a discount on the process of applying for temporary residence and stay. If the passports of citizens of Kazakhstan, Albania, Kyrgyzstan, Iraq and the United Kingdom expire, the residence permit will be extended for 60 days by applying to the migration service.
