In our country, the sons of the fatherland, who won the title of veterans in successful military operations to liberate our lands from the enemy, are always in the spotlight, and regular meetings are organized.

On December 11, a meeting was held with veteran of the Great Patriotic War, senior lieutenant Parvin Abdullayev on the ZOOM platform, jointly organized by the Youth Union of the Sumgayit city branch of the New Azerbaijan Party and the Student Youth Organization of Sumgayit State University (Faculty of History and Geography).

First, the memory of our martyrs killed in the Second Karabakh War was commemorated with a minute of silence.

The event was opened by Tayfun Hajili, chairman of SSU SYO, member of the council of the Youth Union of the YAP Sumgayit city organization, who greeted the guests and students and congratulated them on the victory of our country. He noted that this 44-day war showed to the world the strength of our victorious army and the unity of our people with the determination and will of our Supreme Commander-in-Chief, Mr. Ilham Aliyev. This glorious victory went down in world military history as a 44-day war.

Then the floor was given to veteran of the Great Patriotic War Parvin Abdullayev. Parvin Abdullayev greeted the participants of the meeting and expressed his satisfaction with his participation in the meeting. He noted that since the first day of the 44-day war, Azerbaijani soldiers have shown great courage. He said that the heroism of his comrades-in-arms and the bravery of our army will never be erased from the memory of the Azerbaijani people. Parvin Abdullayev noted that under the leadership of President, Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev, our Army began to expel Armenian armed forces from our lands and our territories were liberated one after another. Thanks to the determination of the Azerbaijani soldier, the enemy was defeated, and Aghdam, Kalbajar and Lachin were returned without a single shot being fired. This victory was achieved as a result of successful military operations carried out by Azerbaijani soldiers and officers. Azerbaijan is already a winner not only in the military sphere, but also in the field of diplomacy and politics. Parvin Abdullayev thanked the President for the attention and care shown to the veterans and the families of martyrs.

Then the floor was given to other speakers. Jala Farhadova, a lecturer at the Faculty of History and Geography of Sumgayit State University, said she was very proud today. She said that the 44-day Patriotic War, which ended with our great victory, was realized thanks to our heroic soldiers and officers, as noted by the Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev. The glorious life of the heroes who rose to the peak of martyrdom is an example for future generations. Jala Farhadova noted that the brave sons of Azerbaijan - our martyrs and veterans - who gave their lives to save our country from the clutches of the enemy, are our source of pride.

Ayshan Amrahova noted that she was very proud to be a citizen of the Republic of Azerbaijan and to meet with the victorious soldier of the Azerbaijani Army. Parvin Aslanov, Chairman of the Student Youth Organization at the Faculty of History and Geography, said that the political ability, wisdom, knowledge and organizational skills of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev raised the voice of Azerbaijan all over the world and increased the prestige of the country.

At the end, veteran Parvin Abdullayev shared his impressions of the battle that led the Azerbaijani army to victory, shared his memories, and thanked the organizers and speakers of the meeting.
