SSU EMPLOYEES TOOK PART IN THE NEXT WEBINAR ORGANIZED BY THE BRITISH COUNCIL
The problems caused by the global COVID-19 pandemic are also affecting the education sector. In this regard, the organization of online classes, and ultimately the correct and adequate assessment of students" knowledge and skills has always been one of the areas of interest in the global education system.
The international webinar organized by the British Council on 16 December, on "Academic Transparency and Integrity in Online Assessment - How Can Universities Conduct Safe and Reliable Assessment?" didn’t get unnoticed by the administration of Sumgayit State University.
Our university was represented in the webinar by senior lecturer PhD in pedagogy Isgandarova Konul, senior lecturer Mammad Ilhama, lecturer Ibrahimov Rufat from the Department of Foreign Languages and PhD in philology senior lecturer Khayala Mursaliyeva from the Department of Azerbaijani language and its teaching methods.
They analyzed the problems they encountered in online assessment through slides. Dr. Glending"s statements even reflected his observations during his travels in the Caucasus. According to him, the biggest problem here is the speed of the Internet and the provision of internet to students in mountainous areas. However, the speaker stressed that the country is a leader in the region in solving these problems with the recent construction of high-speed optical Internet in Azerbaijan. In the end, it was expressed confidence that with the help of highly experienced teachers, such problems of the education system will be successfully overcome.
