Azerbaijan, which made history in the 44-day war! Our great Victory, which began on September 27 and entered the glorious history of Azerbaijan in golden letters, such as November 10 - Victory Day. This is our historic victory, as part of the 44-day military operation, the Azerbaijani Army destroyed the armed forces established by Armenia for 30 years. The day when President Ilham Aliyev delivered the news of the liberation of Shusha to our people on November 8 in the Alley of Martyrs is one of the most glorious and proud days in the history of the independent Azerbaijani state. The visit of the President of Azerbaijan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev to Shusha on January 15, fulfilling the wish of the great leader Heydar Aliyev, who gave us the Great Victory and said "There is no Karabakh without Shusha, no Azerbaijan without Karabakh", was greeted with pride and joy by country community. The revival of the regional cultural center under the leadership of the President, the return to Shusha of the busts of our geniuses - Khurshidbanu Natavan, Uzeyir Hajibeyli and Bulbul, who were shot by the enemy and kept in the yard of the Art Museum in Baku for many years, was another confirmation of historical justice. At the same time, the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Victory Army, First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva and her daughter Heydar Leyla Aliyeva drank tea with baklava, a delicacy of our national cuisine, in the famous Cidir plain in Shusha. It was a slap in the face to the enemy who wanted to take possession of our culture, history and lands. The liberation of Shusha was the biggest blow to the enemy. The victory was given to us by the soldiers, officers and servicemen of the glorious Azerbaijani Army under the leadership of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Ilham Aliyev. Today, each of us is proud of the brave sons of the Motherland, who glorified the name of the state, the people, the region, the village, the settlement, the whole of Azerbaijan with their bravery and heroism. As always, the problems of the families of martyrs and war invalids are always in the center of attention, and great work has been done in this direction in recent years. In general, the state care for the families of martyrs is a priority in Azerbaijan"s domestic policy. The projects and initiatives authored by the First Vice-President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva are of special importance in increasing the attention and care for these people. The work done by the Foundation, as well as other measures taken to actively integrate people with disabilities and children with disabilities into society, play an important role in further strengthening the social protection policy in Azerbaijan and expanding its scope. The attention and care of President Ilham Aliyev and First Vice President Mehriban Aliyeva to our martyrs and their families is an example for every government official and ordinary citizen. The steps taken to provide the families of martyrs with housing, to provide them with preferential mortgage loans, land plots, benefits, pensions and presidential pensions, to pay tuition fees for the children of martyrs, to perpetuate the names of martyrs are a manifestation of the state"s attention and care. As a continuation of this policy, under the leadership of the rector of Sumgayit State University, Professor Elkhan Huseynov, the faculty and students of the university periodically visit the families of martyrs, and their families are respected and honored. On January 15, SSU Vice-Rector for Humanitarian Affairs, Associate Professor Ramiz Huseynov and Head of the Free Trade Union Committee, Associate Professor Elmar Khalilov visited the relatives of university employees killed in the Great Patriotic War. They visited the mother of the only child of the family, martyr Farhad Ilham oglu Aliyev, Taja Aliyeva, who has been working in the Personnel Department of Sumgayit State University since 1993, and the grandfather of the martyr Tarlan Rovshad oglu Rzayev, Hasanbala Rzayev, who has been working in the university"s security service since 2001. Representatives who wished God"s mercy to all our martyrs noted that they wrote a real history. They said: “Thank you for raising such proud children. As you know, strengthening the social protection and improving the welfare of the families of martyrs and war invalids is one of the main directions of state policy”. During the conversation, the family members of the martyr thanked President Ilham Aliyev and rector of the university Professor Elkhan Huseynov for the attention and care shown to the martyrs" families. They noted that the attention and appreciation shown by the President to the families of martyrs today is an example of patriotic education of the younger generation.
