On January 27, an online workshop was held of the Dual Study program, a joint project of the DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service) and the AHK (German-Azerbaijani Chamber of Commerce). First of all, Dayanat Ahmadov, Chairman of the Working Group on Training of Human Resources and Vocational Education of the AHK of Azerbaijan, greeted the participants of the seminar and spoke about the importance of the event. The seminar, moderated by Dr. Magnus Muller, Head of Vocational Education of AHK Azerbaijan and Dr. Michael Beck, Rector of DAAD at the Azerbaijan State University of Oil and Industry, continued with presentations by the guests. The first presentation at the seminar was "Binary Education - How Does It Work in Practice?" By Franziska Kuhl, Director of the Brandenburg Binary Education Agency. He also spoke about the agencies in the German federal state of Brandenburg and the history and widespread use of the educational program in Germany. He said that in this program, students are first registered at the university, and then periodically move as a university-company. After receiving the degree, students remain in the company as employees. This is a kind of university-student-company cooperation. For this purpose, a cooperation agreement is signed between the university and the company, and an employment agreement is signed with the student. Peter Hirsch, an AHK Colombian specialist, then gave a presentation on Dual Education - "The Model of Success in the example of Latin America". He spoke about the success of dual education in Latin America, the advantages of dual education, the German Chamber of Commerce. In Germany, companies have invested 26 million euros a year in this model of education, he said. He also spoke about why companies invest in this education and its benefits for universities. After the presentations, participants" questions about dual education were answered. The possibility of financing such a program was discussed, and it was emphasized that there must be a German partner university. The survey was conducted on “Which direction would be interesting if a dual education potential project is implemented in Azerbaijan?” Employees of Sumgayit State University - Head of the Department of Electromechanics, Assoc. prof. T.Huseynov, Head of the Career Center, Assoc. prof. A.Isayev, employee of the Department of International Cooperation and Foreign Students N. Guliyeva participated in the workshop. It should be noted that steps are being taken in Azerbaijan to implement this educational program.
