On March 3, the Heydar Aliyev School of Sumgayit State University hosted the next online session on "Great Leader Heydar Aliyev and State Women"s Policy".

The event was attended by MP, Chairman of the Committee on Family, Women and Children of the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan Hijran Huseynova, a group of professors and students of Sumgayit State Technical College and SSU.

Opening the event, Rector Professor Elkhan Huseynov greeted the guests and participants, expressed his pleasure to see Ms. Hijran Huseynova and congratulated all women on the upcoming March 8 - International Women"s Day, spoke about the state care for women and their high position in our society. He noted that due to the attention and care of our state, the role of our women in the Azerbaijani society, who actively participate in the socio-political life of society, is great. Noting that the problems of family, women and children are a priority of state policy in our country, the rector noted that today the majority of people working in the fields of education, health and culture are women. There is no longer a leading field in society where our women are not represented. This is an integral part of the policy of the great leader Heydar Aliyev. Today, First Vice President Mehriban Aliyeva proves to the whole world that an Azerbaijani woman can be both a beautiful mother and an active public figure. As the First Vice-President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Goodwill Ambassador of UNESCO and ISESCO, she has rendered unparalleled services in the development of our education, culture, preservation of our national and spiritual values. Mehriban Aliyeva represents Azerbaijani women at the highest level with her work, skills and invaluable qualities both in our country and abroad.

Rector noted that National Leader Heydar Aliyev has always praised Azerbaijani women, this policy is successfully pursued by President Ilham Aliyev, their selfless work is highly valued, women working in various fields are awarded honorary titles, individual scholarships, orders and medals. Rector noted that Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Leyla Aliyeva also worked extensively and purposefully to promote Azerbaijan, especially to convey the truth about Karabakh to the world. He said that the events held on her initiative also show the potential of Azerbaijani youth.

She noted that as a result of the multifaceted and fruitful activities of the First Vice-President of Azerbaijan Mehriban Aliyeva, the interest of Azerbaijani women in the active participation in the socio-political life of the country has increased. Mrs. Hijran Huseynova, on behalf of the First Vice-President of Azerbaijan Mehriban Aliyeva, congratulated all women on March 8 - International Women"s Day.

Afterwards the speakers made speech: Associate Professor of the Faculty of Economics and Management, Doctor of Philosophy in Economics Saadat Humbataliyeva on "The role of Azerbaijani women in the economic development of Azerbaijan during the rule of Heydar Aliyev", Boyukkhanim Eminli, Head of the Department of Azerbaijani Language and its Teaching Methods, Associate Professor, PhD in Philology on “The role of Azerbaijani women politicians during the rule of President Ilham Aliyev” , 4th year student of the Faculty of Philology Nazrin Adigozalzadeh "Successes of the Azerbaijani youth in conveying the truth about Karabakh to the world community through the example of Leyla Aliyeva", Ayten Asadova, Senior Lecturer of the Department of History and its Teaching Methods on “Activity of the First Vice-President of Azerbaijan Mehriban Aliyeva in State Administration”, Elnara Majidova, a first-year student of Sumgayit State Technical College at Sumgayit State University on “Azerbaijani woman in the history of statehood!”.

Vice-Rector for Science and Innovations, Professor Ramazan Mammadov, Dean of the Faculty of History and Geography, Professor Adil Bakhshaliyev congratulated the participants and all women on the occasion of March 8 - International Women"s Day. They appreciated the work of our women who made valuable contributions.

In conclusion, the rector, Professor Elkhan Huseynov, said that a group of women employees of the university were awarded honorary diplomas for their fruitful scientific and pedagogical activities and on the occasion of March 8 - International Women"s Day.
