CONGRATULATIONS OF THE RECTOR OF SSU, PROFESSOR ELKHAN HUSEYNOV ON MARCH 8 - INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY
Rector, Professor Elkhan Huseynov congratulated all female employees of the university on March 8 - International Women's Day.
Dear ladies!
I congratulate you on March 8 - International Women's Day and express my best wishes.
Azerbaijani women have always raised our people and nation with their intelligence, wisdom, loyalty, heroism, high motherhood. Throughout history, Azerbaijani women have been known for their struggle, and our women have always taken an active part in the socio-political and cultural life of the country.
It should be noted that at Sumgayit State University, women play a very important role both in the management of the university and in the teaching staff. Thus, the deans of three of the university's seven faculties and the heads of nine of the 29 departments are women. In recent years, the majority of doctoral students admitted to the doctoral program are women. Throughout history, our mothers, sisters and their sons, brothers and wives have always walked together in war, socio-political, social and cultural life, as well as in the family, and fought bravely shoulder to shoulder in spite of all the difficulties of life. In our society, women have always been tolerant. In the late 80s and early 90s, women also participated in the complex processes taking place in the country along with men. Tank driver Sevil Abbasova, nicknamed Blonde, Nahida Garayeva, sniper nicknamed Sparrow, Salatin Askerova, the first martyred journalist, Kamala Gahramanova, registered under the name of Gahramanov Kamal, and many other women, with great strength and determination, sucked the blood of the enemy. They also wrote their names in golden letters in the memory of history during the Second Karabakh War. Towards the end of last year, history put our society to a severe test. No war goes by without losses. We ended this war with a victory at the expense of the blood of our martyrs. Our mothers, who gave each of these heroes to the world, brought them up in the spirit of patriotism, and martyred for the Motherland and the land without blinking an eye, deserve deep respect. We are as indebted and grateful to them as we are to our victory.
From a historical point of view, in a short period of time, women in Azerbaijan have taken their rightful place in society, in all spheres of life. We are proud that Azerbaijani women have shown themselves in science, culture, education, health, and in all areas of the economy - industry, agriculture, trade, in every field and have contributed to the development of our country and nation.
As a result of such a wide range of women's activities, education in Azerbaijan developed in a short period of time, people became literate, and Azerbaijani education rose to such a high level.
Women deserve the highest appreciation for all other services they provide in society and in life because they are mothers.
After the restoration of our state independence, Azerbaijani women have become active participants in the process of nation-building, and have made valuable contributions to increasing the socio-economic and cultural potential of our country. At a time when a part of our native lands is under occupation, women are honorably carrying the heavy burden of educating the young generation in the spirit of patriotism and their upbringing as worthy children of the people and society.
Today, on this holiday, I wish you, all the women of Azerbaijan, good health and success in all their endeavors. May love fill your heart and light your way, dear ladies!
Happy holiday, dear women!
