SSU STUDENTS SUCCEEDED IN INTERNATIONAL OLYMPIAD
State programs implemented in the education system of Azerbaijan in recent years have created favorable conditions for the formation of highly intelligent, innovative-minded, research-minded young people who serve to strengthen the competitiveness of our country in the world of science and education. The holding of university, national and international subject Olympiads has a special role and place in the training of such young scientists.
On April 6, Ufa State Oil Technical University (UDNTU), the Russian co-chair of the Russian-Azerbaijani University Association, hosted the traditional IV International Subject Olympiad in two-stage online format on "Fundamentals of automated control in technical systems." The Olympiad covered several broad areas, such as the basics of automation of technological processes, control, measurement and telecommunication systems in technical systems, metrological support of measurement. 80 teams from 12 universities of the Russian Federation, 1 university of the Republic of Kazakhstan and 1 university of the People"s Republic of China took part in the Olympiad.
Students of Sumgayit State University (SSU), co-chair of the Association from the Azerbaijani side, participated in the Olympiad with 2 teams.
Professor of the Department of Press Automation Fazil Alakbarli supervised the teams. The first team consisting of students of the Faculty of Engineering - Seymur Talibov, Gudrat Agazade, Vusal Hajiyev, Master of Physics and Electroenergetics Nijat Huseynov, was led by Professor Javanshir Mammadov, students of the Faculty of Physics and Electroenergetics - Islam Aliyev, Jeyhun Alizade, Telman Hajialiyev, Sariye Khudiyeva led by Associate Professor Turgay Huseynov. The working language of the first team was English, the second team was Russian.
The team led by Professor Javanshir Mammadov was awarded the third place, and the second-year student of the Faculty of Engineering Gudrat Agazadeh was awarded in individual competitions.
