On April 16, the Department of Economics of the Faculty of Economics and Management of Sumgayit State University together with the Department of Economic Security of Ufa State Oil Technical University held a round table on "The state of the world economy and individual countries during the pandemic."

The event was opened by the Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Management, Associate Professor Aynura Yahyayeva, who greeted the participants and spoke about the importance of the event. She noted that the purpose of the event is to implement the provisions of cooperation agreements signed between the Association of State Universities of the Caspian states, as well as between Sumgayit State University and Ufa State Oil Technical University, to deepen scientific ties between the relevant departments of the two universities. The dean noted that our university is a member of the Caspian State Universities and the Association of Azerbaijani-Russian Higher Education Institutions. The university, which has been expanding its international relations year by year, today plays an important role in the integration of our country into the world.

Associate Professor Lala Mahmudova, Head of the Department of Economics at Sumgayit State University, greeted the participants and spoke about the negative effects of the long-running pandemic on the economy of individual countries and the world economy as a whole, forecasts that the recession will continue for some time. She made a report on "Covid 19 and human capital".

Head of the Department of Economic Security of Ufa State Oil Technical University Associate Professor Olga Vladimirovna Mamatelashvili greeted the participants of the round table and made a report on "The world economy in a pandemic: threats and challenges."

Professor of the Department of Economic Security of USOTU Shaybakova Emma Rifovna spoke in detail on "The trajectory of the development of national economies in the modern world", associate professor of the same department Krasnosekskaya Dina Khadimovna on "World recession".

Saadat Humbataliyeva, Associate Professor of the Department of Economics of SSU, spoke on "Income of the population in a pandemic", Mahammad Ahmadov, a senior lecturer of the same department, on "Foreign economic relations in a pandemic".

Head of the Department of Finance and Accounting, Associate Professor Loghman Abdullayev, Associate Professor of Economic Security of USOTU Mukhamadiyeva Elvira Fanirovna spoke about the importance of expanding scientific relations between higher education institutions.

Professor of the Department of World Economy and Marketing Shafa Aliyev spoke about the importance of scientific substantiation of preparations for the post-pandemic period.

Discussions were held on the topic. The discussion of the economic situation during the pandemic, the scientific substantiation of the preparations for the post-pandemic period, the discovery of new opportunities were discussed. The importance of intensifying work to further expand scientific ties between the two departments was emphasized. In the coming weeks, the head of the Department of Economic Security of Ufa State Oil Technical University, Associate Professor O.V. Mamamtlashvili will give a summary lecture for students of Sumgayit State University, the head of the Department of Economics of SSU Lala Mahmudova will hold a master class for students of Ufa State Oil Technical University. In June, it was planned to hold a round table between the two departments on "Energy security - a factor in the socio-economic development of the regions."
