On April 21, the first meeting of the Scientific seminar of PhD students on "Light of the word" dedicated to the 880th anniversary of Nizami Ganjavi was organized by the Department of Foreign Languages of SSU.

Prof. Ramazan Mammadov, Vice-Rector for Science and Innovations, Sevinj Hamzayeva, Dean of the Faculty of Philology, Professor Nigar Isgandarova, Head of the Department of Foreign Languages, Boyukkhanim Eminli, Head of the Department of Azerbaijani Language and its Teaching Methods, Professor Avtandil Mammadov, Head of the Department of Azerbaijan and Foreign Literature , Head of the Department of Pedagogy and Psychology, Associate Professor Aytekin Mammadova and the teaching staff of the departments, Dean of the Pedagogical Faculty of Mingachevir State University, Associate Professor Nizami Zeynalov, Head of the Department of Foreign Languages, MSU, Assoc. prof. Zemfira Azizova and the teaching staff of the same university also attended the event.

Opening the seminar, Professor Nigar Isgandarova, Head of the Department of Foreign Languages of SSU, greeted the guests and participants of the event, informed them about the purpose and objectives of the scientific seminar. The head of the department informed the participants and guests that this seminar, like every scientific, educational and cultural event held this year, is dedicated to the 880th anniversary of Nizam Ganjavi. She noted that the President declared this year the "Year of Nizami Ganjavi" and notified that this is a very important and necessary event to promote our Azerbaijan, to confirm our national and cultural identity, to promote the universal ideas of the Azerbaijani poet Nizami Ganjavi. At the same time, in accordance with the comprehensive action plan of SSU, 2 international conferences are planned at the Faculty of Philology. Ms. Nigar said that the seminar organized by the decision of the meeting of the Department of Foreign Languages.

Then the head of the department gave information about the department of Foreign Languages. She noted that 36 people are currently working at the department, 14 of them are PhD students of SSU, AUL, Institute of Linguistics of ANAS named after Nasimi. She opined that young researchers often deliver speech at many conferences held at SSU, in Azerbaijan and abroad, and their articles and theses are published in prestigious journals. Today, at the first meeting of the seminar, five of our young researchers will present their scientific results.

Then the floor was given to the speakers. Ayten Bunyatova, a teacher at the Department of Foreign Languages and PhD student at the Azerbaijan University of Languages, spoke on "The problem of concept (" spirit ") and language (" letter ") in interlingual communication." She noted the close coexistence of concept and language, and that it was impossible to consider them in isolation.

Samira Rzayeva, an employee of the Department of Foreign Languages and a dissertation student at Sumgayit State University, spoke on "The relationship between emotionality and cognition mechanisms in language in the historical context of the study of the concept of" Emotion ". In recent years, linguistic literature has emphasized the need to distinguish between traditional linguistics and passive and active linguistics.

Khatira Yusibova, a senior lecturer at the Department of Foreign Languages and a dissertation student at Sumgayit State University, spoke on "The role of prefixes in the process of word formation in English."

Aynura Khanlarova, a teacher at the Department of Foreign Languages and a dissertation student at the Azerbaijan University of Languages, made an article entitled "The writer's idiostyle and phraseological transformation."

Jala Mammadova, a teacher at the Department of Foreign Languages and a dissertation student at the Nasimi Institute of Linguistics of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, made an article entitled "A brief classification of electronic dictionaries in modern education."

Each speaker asked questions by the participants, and issues of interest were discussed and debated.

At the end of the seminar, the speakers thanked the rector of Sumgayit State University, Professor Elkhan Huseynov for the attention and support given to the development of science and the formation of young scientists in this educational institution. At the same time, they stressed the importance of the seminar for doctoral students and dissertators at the Department of Foreign Languages, supporting their future scientific work, helping them to properly organize their speeches in front of the academic audience and reduce anxiety.
