On April 22, Sumgayit State University hosted an online scientific-practical webinar on "Love of nature in the works of Nizami Ganjavi" dedicated to the International Earth Day, organized by the Department of Ecology of the Faculty of Chemistry and Biology.

The webinar was attended by the employees of Institute of Radiation Problems of ANAS, the Institute of Geography of ANAS, the Academy of Philology and Sociology, Baku State University, Mingachevir State University, the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, Azersu Open Joint Stock Company, Sumgayit Regional Office No. 4 of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, Sumgayit City Child and Youth Development Center No. 1 and teaching staff, masters and students of Sumgayit State University (Faculty of Chemistry and Biology and Philology).

Elmar Musayev, sector manager of the Sumgayit regional office of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, the employee of the office Vusal Ibrahimli, director of the Academy of Philology and Sociology, PhD Mail Yagub, and a group of university professors also participated in the webinar. Opening the webinar, the head of the Department of Ecology, Associate Professor Rahila Ahmadova greeted the participants. She noted that the proclamation of 2021 as the "Year of Nizami Ganjavi" in Azerbaijan by the relevant decree of President Ilham Aliyev is a clear example of the high value given to our classical literary heritage and notified that Nizami Ganjavi, as an educator, tried to educate people in the spirit of loving and caring for nature in almost all his works. The problem of environmental security facing mankind today is widely touched upon in Nizami"s works, and ways to solve it are being explored. We encounter environmental problems in all his works, from ghazals and poems to “Khamsa”.

In Nizami"s work, the presentation and analysis of environmental issues are given in such a scientific way that you have to approach the author as a scientist who has mastered nature and takes care of it. It accurately conveys the factors that affect living organisms. For example, by showing the elements that surround and affect the body in nature, it shows the environmental factors.

Dean of the Faculty of Chemistry and Biology of SSU, Associate Professor Mahal Muradov noted that this year marks the 880th anniversary of the great Azerbaijani poet and thinker Nizami Ganjavi. In this regard, President Ilham Aliyev signed an order declaring 2021 the "Year of Nizami Ganjavi" in Azerbaijan. He noted that numerous events in various formats and topics are being held at the university within the "Year of Nizami Ganjavi".

Then Elmar Musayev, Sector Director of Sumgayit Regional Office No. 4 of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources delivered speech on “International Earth Day”, Director of the Academy of Philology and Sociology, PhD Mail Yagub on “Perfect Human Model in Nizami”, senior lecturer of the Department of Azerbaijani language and its teaching methods Ali Rzazadeh spoke on "Love of nature and attitude to nature protection in the work of Nizami Ganjavi." said that International Earth Day aims to draw attention to the fragility of the Earth"s ecosystem and encourage people to be more careful about our common home, Earth. People"s lifestyle and material well-being are related to nature, the richness of natural resources, their efficient use and protection. The richer nature is, the more it penetrates human taste and good health.

The webinar continued with discussions and Dean of the Faculty of Ecology of Baku State University Nazim Shamilov, Associate Professor of Mingachevir State University Vugar Mustafayev, Head of the Laboratory of the Institute of Radiation Problems of ANAS, Corresponding Member of ANAS Professor Islam Mustafayev expressed their best wishes to the webinar.
