THE NEXT ONLINE MEETING OF THE SCIENTIFIC COUNCIL
The next meeting of the Scientific Council was held online on April 28 at Sumgayit State University. Rector of the University, Chairman of the Scientific Council, Professor Elkhan Huseynov opened the meeting and introduced the issues on the agenda.
Speaking about the results of scientific research and scientific-pedagogical practices and certifications of 2nd year masters, the head of the Doctoral and Master's Department Sabir Khalilov said that in accordance with the Curriculum by the order of the faculties DM-06/6, dated 05.02.2021 Masters underwent scientific research on 16.02.2021-15.03.2021, and scientific-pedagogical practice on 16.03.2021 - 12.04.2021. He noted that despite the difficulties and limitations created by the coronavirus pandemic, the research and scientific-pedagogical practices of the second-year masters were fully implemented according to the approved schedules. Associate Professor Sabir Khalilov noted that the results of attestation of second-year masters in the Scientific Councils of the faculty were satisfactory and suggested giving an additional 1 month to undergraduates who did not pass the attestation, recommended to work with them individually to department heads and supervisors.
Vice-Rector for International Relations, Associate Professor Gafar Atayev spoke about the work done at SSU in the field of international relations and the tasks ahead, and gave detailed information about the work done and future tasks in the field of international relations of the university.
He noted that our university is actively involved in ERASMUS + EQAC, ERASMUS + PETRA, Creative Spark, ERASMUS + UNILAB and other international projects, and cooperates closely with British Council (UK), DAAD - (German Academic Exchange Service), Visegrad Foundation - Azerbaijan Bureau of Czech Republic Res Campus France and other international organizations.
Our employees actively participate in international conferences, forums, international Olympiads, webinars.
The Vice-Rector noted that within the framework of the State Program on Increasing the International Competitiveness of the Higher Education System in the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2019-2023, Hacettepe University of Turkey and Sumgayit State University are working to develop a model of Dual Diploma in Physics and Chemical Engineering. Also, the head of the "Department of Petrochemistry and Chemical Engineering" of the Faculty of Chemistry and Biology, Prof. Akbar Agayev also works as a professor at the Department of Chemical Technology and Chemical Machinery of the Hevinnomyssk Institute of Technology, a branch of the North Caucasus Federal University (0.25 teachers were hired), gives lectures, conducts research with Russian scientists and publishes scientific papers.
Pavlenko Yelena Nikolayevna, Head of the Department of Chemical Technology and Chemical Production Machines, presented a joint scientific article at the International Conference dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the CIS in Moscow in May. He noted that Rovshan Mammadov, a teacher at the Department of Azerbaijani and Foreign Literature of the Faculty of Philology, has been working as a teacher at Bulent Ecevit University in Turkey for 2 years within the framework of the Higher Education Council and deservedly represents our university.
Then, it was assigned to the Vice-Rector for Teaching Organization and Training Technologies Assoc. prof. Natig Talibov, Vice-Rector for International Relations Assoc. prof. Gafar Atayev and director of the Teaching Methodological Center Faig Shirinov, by implementing measures to expand and improve the activities of the Quality Control and Evaluation Unit of SSU, to achieve the transformation of the unit into a Quality Assurance Center in the future.
It was handed over to Vice-Rector for International Relations Assoc. prof. Gafar Atayev and the head of the Department of International Relations and Foreign Students Samira Mammadova the identification of teachers who will teach 4 subjects taught in English in the preparatory group and implementation of relevant measures to open the English language sector.
It was assigned to Vice-Rector for International Relations Assoc. prof. Gafar Atayev the implementation of relevant measures to further expand work with foreign embassies operating in the Republic of Azerbaijan, holding online webinars, organization of ambassador's hour (ambassador's day), invitation of embassy representatives to scientific conferences and other events. It was considered expedient to take appropriate measures to establish SABAH groups, to involve professors and teachers in teaching in English, to attract specialists fluent in English and Russian to departments, centers and departments.
Vice-Rector for Humanitarian Affairs Ramiz Huseynov made a detailed report on the events to be held on the occasion of the 98th anniversary of Heydar Aliyev and the 103rd anniversary of the Azerbaijan People's Republic (APR) and the action plan was approved.
The doctoral dissertation of Samir Karimli, a doctoral student of the Department of History and its teaching methods, on the topic "History of the establishment and development of state archives in Azerbaijan (1920-2020)" and scientific adviser prof. Shirkhan Salimov was approved.
Doctoral dissertation of Rasmiyya Mammadova, PhD student of the Department of Physics and its teaching methods, on the topic "Electroactive properties of nanocomposites with polypropylene matrix modified with Na montmorilloite" and scientific adviser, Honored Scientist, Ph.D., prof. Eldar Gojayev was approved.
The doctoral student of the program of the doctor of sciences of the department of history and its teaching methods is Ph.D. The new edition of Sona Maharramova's doctoral dissertation was approved as "Policy of revival and protection of national and moral values in the Republic of Azerbaijan" and scientific adviser academician Yagub Mahmudov.
Professor Mukhtar Samadov, Scientific Secretary, informed about the granting of the right to publish textbooks. He noted that the Scientific Council received 7 textbooks. 3 of them are textbooks and 4 are subject programs.
Employee of the Department of Literature of Azerbaijan and Foreign Countries, Ph.D. Tora Kamal gizi Mammadova was allowed to apply to the EAC for the title of associate professor for scientific and pedagogical activities.
Following the discussions, relevant decisions were made. Thus, the meeting of the Scientific Council ended.
