A WEBINAR ON “DIGITAL ECONOMY: ADVANTAGES AND PROSPECTS” JOINTLY ORGANIZED BY SSU AND SSTC
On May 3, the Department of Economics organized a webinar on "Digital Economy: Advantages and Prospects" jointly organized by Sumgayit State Technical College under SSU.
Opening the webinar, Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Management, Associate Professor Aynura Yahyayeva greeted the participants, noting that the purpose and importance of the event was to convey ideas about the establishment of e-government in our country and the solution of a number of issues, including the need to build a digital economy to the students and teachers of Sumgayit State Technical College.
Director of Sumgayit State Technical College under SSU Matanat Pirguliyeva greeted the participants, shared her thoughts about the importance of joint events between Sumgayit State University and Sumgayit State Technical College, the need to expand students' worldviews and ensure continuing education.
Speaking about the importance of the event, the head of the Department of Economics, Associate Professor Lala Mahmudova said that the purpose of the webinar is to inform participants about the problems, trends, prospects, socio-economic results of the digital economy. In order to expand awareness in this area, a series of webinars on "Digital Economy: Advantages and Prospects" is planned.
Senior Lecturer of the Department of Economics PhD Shahla Jamilzadeh spoke on "Digital economy: world trends, social and economic consequences of the spread of digital technologies." She said that the concept of digital economy interprets different approaches, factors in the formation of the digital economy, provides information about the adopted programs in this field, studies the impact of the digital economy on people's lives, analyzes its pros and cons, interprets information security in the digital economy, provides information on the socio-economic consequences of the spread of the economy, including the features of e-learning, e-health, e-library.
Elnara Mammadova, a senior lecturer at the Department of Economics, spoke on "The Digital Economy: Digital Challenges and the Revolution." Noting that the best practices of the digital economy play a key locomotive role, she spoke about the components of the digital economy, drivers, new business models created by the digital economy, e-commerce, e-banking, the serious challenges of the digital economy and the digital revolution and made proposals on the development of the country, made an animated presentation on money transfers.
The webinar discussed the digital transformation of public administration, the regional view of digital cooperation, the digitalization of the financial sector, the digital transformation of the social sphere and education.
As a result of the discussions and exchange of views, significant progress has been made in the field of digital economy.
