SSU HOSTED AN ONLINE SEMINAR ON "THE IMPACT OF SELF-REALIZATION IN YOUTH ON THE DEVELOPMENT OF PERSONALITY" DEDICATED TO THE DAY OF PSYCHOLOGY
The Department of Pedagogy and Psychology of the Faculty of Philology of Sumgayit State University organized an online seminar on "The impact of self-realization in youth on the development of personality" dedicated to the Day of Psychology.
Opening the seminar, Dean of the Faculty of Philology Sevinj Hamzayeva first commemorated the 98th anniversary of the National Leader of the Republic of Azerbaijan, world-renowned statesman Heydar Aliyev, spoke about the invaluable services of the great personality to our people, and then congratulated psychologists on World Psychologists" Day.
The head of the department of pedagogy and psychology, associate professor Aytekin Mammadova gave detailed information about the content and essence of the seminar. She said that positive factors affect the formation of personality. The degree of influence of these factors also varies. The formation of personality has been relevant at different times and remains relevant today.
Associate Professor Aytekin Mammadova also said that the age of youth in a person"s life is a period of transition to independent adulthood. This means, on the one hand, the completion of physical maturity and, on the other hand, the attainment of social maturity. In psychology, the age limit of 18-25 is considered to be the active development of a person"s moral and aesthetic feelings, the formation and stability of his/her character, his/her full mastery of social roles. This age is also a sensitive period for the development of self-realization.
Young people are now trying to perceive changes in various spheres of life as an individual, to adopt an alternative culture, to form new lifestyles and thinking stereotypes. Youth is a period of responsible decisions that determine a person"s future life (choice of profession and place in life, position in life, choice of spouse, family formation, etc.). This decision strengthens the confidence of some young people in their own strength and abilities, gives them hope for life, and in others the opposite. For this reason, parents who want to correct any mistakes in the behavior of young people should do the process indirectly, rather than directly, and prefer a more friendly position. In order for young people to understand their personal needs and feelings, to be responsible for the steps they take, to make vital decisions independently, parents must accept that they have grown up, give their young children freedom and try to help them overcome their difficulties as counselors.
Then the seminar featured presentations of the speakers: Associate professors of the Department of Pedagogy and Psychology Sever Mirzayeva on "The concept of self-realization of personality in modern psychology", Ayna Hajiyeva "Structure, mechanisms and obstacles of self-realization", Jeyhun Mammadov "Unification (generalization) as an obstacle to self-realization of personality", Kamala Salamova " The impact of social perception on self-realization". They said that youth is the most beautiful and active stage of human life. The steps taken at this stage of life play the role of transition to the successes or failures of the future life. The end of adolescence means the existence of a generation that is fully prepared for society. Self-realization means that both the person and the social environment are satisfied with it. Self-realization always implies a direct interaction of man with the objective and social environment, is carried out in the direction of the external world, and the existing features of the external environment always have a certain effect on him.
The speakers advised young people to be calm in dealing with a number of issues, to be emotionally tolerant and resilient in the face of difficulties. They also noted that it can help solve some psychological problems.
The seminar continued with discussions on the topic.
