Today, Sumgayit State University has established close ties with the world's leading universities. In expanding these relations, our university attaches special importance to bilateral cooperation with foreign universities, participation in international educational programs, implementation of joint projects with various scientific and educational institutions, representation in international associations of universities, cooperation with foreign embassies and missions in Azerbaijan. It should be noted that in 2015, a cooperation agreement was signed between SDU and USOTU. In accordance with the cooperation agreement, under the leadership of the Azerbaijani co-chair of the Russian-Azerbaijani University Association, Professor Elkhan Huseynov, SSU students have repeatedly participated in scientific conferences and Olympiads organized at the Ufa State Oil Technical University and succeeded.

Diplomas were presented to the students and supervisors of Sumgayit State University, winners of the traditional IV International Subject Olympiad on "Fundamentals of Automated Control in Technical Systems" held at Ufa State Oil Technical University (USOTU) on May 6, as well as a letter of thanks addressed to the rector of the university Professor Elkhan Huseynov.

It should be noted that the traditional IV International Subject Olympiad on "Fundamentals of automated control in technical systems" was held on April 6 at Ufa State Oil Technical University (USOTU), the Russian co-chair of the Russian-Azerbaijani University Association. The Olympiad covered several broad areas, such as the basics of automation of technological processes, control in technical systems, measurement and telecommunications systems, metrological support of measurement. 80 teams, including 12 from the Russian Federation, 1 from the Republic of Kazakhstan and 1 from the People's Republic of China, took part in the Olympiad.

Students of Sumgayit State University (SSU), the co-chair of the association from the Azerbaijani side, participated in the Olympics with 2 teams.

Professor of the Department of Process Automation Fazil Alakbarli supervised the teams. The first team consisting of students of the Faculty of Engineering: Seymur Talibov, Gudrat Aghazade, Vusal Hajiyev, Master of Physics and Electroenergetics Nijat Huseynov was led by Professor Javanshir Mammadov. The second team, consisting of students of the Faculty of Physics and Power Engineering: Islam Aliyev, Jeyhun Alizade, Telman Hajialiyev, Sariya Kudiyeva, was led by Associate Professor Turgay Huseynov. The working language of the first team was English, the working language of the second team was Russian.

The team led by Professor Javanshir Mammadov was awarded the third place, and the second-year student of the Faculty of Engineering Gudrat Aghazade was awarded in individual competitions.
