On May 7, Sumgayit State University, Faculty of Physics and Power Engineering held an online event dedicated to the 98th anniversary of national leader Heydar Aliyev, organized by the Student Youth Organization.

After commemorating national leader Heydar Aliyev with a minute of silence, the event was opened by the Dean of the Faculty of Physics and Power Engineering, Associate Professor Tamella Ahmadova. The important historical services rendered by the Great Leader to the people, state and homeland of Azerbaijan, his universal activity are widely discussed at the events, and his memory is cherished. Associate Professor Tamella Ahmadova noted with pride that the 98th anniversary of the birth of Heydar Aliyev will be celebrated in ancient Shusha, Azerbaijan, the victorious country that liberated its lands from occupation under the leadership of Supreme Commander-in-Chief, President Ilham Aliyev. The historic victory in the 44-day Patriotic War is a celebration of Heydar Aliyev's policy, the embodiment of the power of the President of Azerbaijan, a worthy successor of the Great Leader. The process of reconstruction continues rapidly in our lands liberated during the 44-day war. Initially, projects related to the restoration of road transport and energy infrastructure are being implemented. The visits of President Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva also showed that soon all the territories liberated from occupation will be rebuilt and their people will return to their native lands.

In his report, Ramiz Ismayilov, Chairman of the New Azerbaijan Party at the Faculty of Physics and Power Engineering, delivered speech on "Our national unity, founded by Heydar Aliyev, is the basis of our historic victory." He stressed that he paid special attention to increasing employment, creating new jobs and other important areas. He noted that the genius himself, during a meeting with voters during the 1998 presidential election campaign, said, "As long as Azerbaijan exists, so do I. I will always be in Azerbaijan, "he said. Yes, Heydar Aliyev will always exist, will always live - in the independence, success, development of our state and in the Most Powerful Azerbaijan in the history created by Mr. Ilham Aliyev.

They said that the great difference of Heydar Aliyev's personality was that he formed a political successor, whom he believed in trusting the independent, powerful state he had created, and entrusted him with his masterpiece, Azerbaijan. The activities of Mr. Ilham Aliyev, who came to power with the great support of the people, are the most glorious pages of history.
