An online event on "Heydar Aliyev"s pedagogical views" was organized by the Department of Pedagogy and Psychology of the Faculty of Philology of Sumgayit State University on May 7.

The event was opened by the Dean of the Faculty of Philology, Associate Professor Sevinj Hamzayeva, who greeted the participants and thanked everyone who contributed to the organization of the event, noting that events dedicated to the birth of national leader Heydar Aliyev have become a university tradition. The dean spoke about the glorious life of the Great Leader, his historical services to our country. She noted that education issues have a special place in the rich theoretical heritage and great activity of national leader Heydar Aliyev. Heydar Aliyev"s theoretical conception of national education and upbringing has become a way of life and activity of every student, every pedagogue, and every citizen of Azerbaijan in general, with the power to maintain its value and importance in modern times and in the future.

Head of the Department of Pedagogy and Psychology, Associate Professor Aytekin Mammadova spoke about the life of the founder of the Azerbaijani state, National Leader Heydar Aliyev, his political activity in the field of governance and statehood, his great services to our people and state. She noted that national leader Heydar Aliyev, as in all spheres in Azerbaijan, took great care of education and educators, always paid special attention to the development of the education system and the effective functioning of educators. Our great leader has always taken into account and appreciated the special role and importance of education in the destiny, comprehensive progress and success of the country and the people. Both during the first and the second leadership of Azerbaijan, the national leader Heydar Aliyev always looked at education and upbringing as a strategic field, and praised their role in the progress of the Motherland and the people.

Then the event featured the presentations: Sevinj Rzayeva, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Pedagogy and Psychology spoke on “Heydar Aliyev"s Policy in Azerbaijani Education”, Tahira Gasimova on “Heydar Aliyev"s Legacy in the Process of Education”, Ahliman Dadashzadeh on “Heydar Aliyev"s Ideas on Moral Education”, Roya Ismayilova on "Heydar Aliyev"s value to education and Azerbaijani teachers." They spoke about the comprehensive progress of our country, the spiritual and cultural evolution of our people, the protection of national and spiritual values, the development of science and education, as well as the care shown to educators. They noted that in Heydar Aliyev"s attitude to the teaching profession, there is always wisdom, care, great respect and esteem for this vocation. On the one hand, this was due to his position as head of state, but on the other hand, it was due to the fact that he was still the first teacher. They stressed that his approach to people, communication and attitude to them showed the great leader"s pedagogical skills, deep mastery of psychological, ethical and aesthetic knowledge, broad outlook, agile and comprehensive knowledge and awareness, "Heydar Aliyev"s pedagogy".

The event continued with interesting discussions on the topic.
