THE NEXT ONLINE MEETING OF THE RECTOR'S OFFICE AT SUMGAYIT STATE UNIVERSITY
The next online meeting of the rector"s office was held on May 21 at Sumgayit State University. Rector Professor Elkhan Huseynov greeted the participants and said that the agenda of the meeting included three main issues - the results of colloquiums held in academic groups, open classes held at the university and the XXI Republican Scientific Conference of Masters. Before discussing the issues on the agenda, Rector Professor Elkhan Huseynov touched upon the government"s decision to cover the tuition fees of students from socially vulnerable families at the expense of the state budget, and stressed that the preparation of a list of such students studying at SSU on a paid basis is underway. Then the issues on the agenda discussed.
Director of the Teaching Methodological Center Faig Shirinov informed about the results of colloquiums held in academic groups. He noted that the colloquiums are aimed at helping students prepare for exams. Despite the difficulties associated with the pandemic, SSU students actively participated in colloquiums, which were evaluated on the basis of students" oral answers to 3 questions in accordance with the exams. Then Faig Shirinov informed about the results of colloquiums on faculties.
Chairman of the Teaching Methodological Council, Associate Professor Musa Mustafayev informed about the results of open classes held at the university. He noted that the departments continued to hold open classes according to the approved schedules, as well as in the off-schedule form by the Teaching Methodological Council.
He noted that it is expedient to hold open lessons and discuss the results at the meetings of the department, if necessary, these discussions with the participation of the dean of the faculty and a representative of the Teaching Methodological Center.
The rector noted that in order to increase the effectiveness of open lessons, the implementation of more stringent control should always be in the center of attention, and the comments and suggestions should be provided to subject teachers and department heads.
Associate Professor Sabir Khalilov, Head of the Doctoral and Master"s Department, spoke about the results of the XXI Republican Scientific Conference of Masters. He noted that the XXI Republican Scientific Conference of Masters was held at a high level of organization, content and form, in line with modern requirements. A total of 1,250 master"s theses from 19 scientific and educational institutions of the country were registered at the conference, all materials were analyzed, plagiarized, published in 3 volumes and posted on the official portal of the university in PDF format.
